Hi

pcworld are doing a linksys router with (i think) a free USB adaptor for
£49.99 at the moment.

it isn`t MIMO, but unless your house is afflicted with lead lined walls then
you won`t notice the difference.

there`s a guy who lives four doors away from my parents house (semi detached
not terraced) and whilst visiting them, i could pick up a "good" signal on my laptop
from his linksys router when i was in my parents lounge.

Ste.

........is that gasoline i smell?

PCWorld were offering a Linksys WAG54G modem router and a free WPC54G pc card wireless adaptor for £49.99. I think PCWorld have stopped it now - it`s no longer on website.

Called in Staples today (17th May), and they had two left on the shelf.

Works a treat.

Just went down there as my trusty Netgear died on Thursday after the storms. It passed right over our house (Llanishen) and seems to have killed off the modem as it will no longer connect to the internet.

They didn`t have any but did have lots of mimo PCMCIA cards for £30. Still looking for a cheap replacement, using the freebee USB modem for now.

All the best

Gerald.
