Not sure how much of a bargain this actually is but we went in to look at a 20" lcd and bought one of these instead:

Can`t find it online for anything close to this price. (Other than Currys website)

I would rather have the Panny at under £1,800!

dont know that model meself, but looking at that spec description the Panny is a plasma *screen* not a Plasma TV.
If you went for the Panny, you`d have to add a tuner box....and don`t be fooled by the "Oh yeah, you can use your Sky/VCR/DVDRecorder etc as a tuner box".....it doesn`t do anywhere near the same job.

Having said that...I wouldn`t buy either <grin>

Dave, naaa mate, the Philips is a decent enough unit, and has an internal tuner, so it *is* a Plasma TV, not just a screen.

Having said that, it`s a pain in the butt if you wanna wall mount it due to having to hide all the scart cables etc coming down the wall too.

Personally, I`m off the Plasma idea...I`m heading down the DLP route next time...

I`m selling my 4 month old panasonic plasma.
decent enough picture but watching close ups of faces when an actor moves his head
it takes a second for the image to catch up so it`s like a morphing effect. so using my widescreen crt and will stick with that now.
problem i have now is selling the plasma. i`ve put it in my local paper but might sell it on ebay.
cost me £3,000
how much would i get for it?

Well is Richersounds can sell it with a twelve month warranty for £1699.95 brand new and boxed, then you would be looking at something less than that.......

The warranty is probably worth £200, so you`d be looking at under £1,500.

However if you put it on ebay, you might find it bid to £2500, given that you`ve got 8 months guarantee left, and the rrp is 3,500!

Good luck.

Well....

If you sell your plasma on Ebay you will get the best price for it.....maybe around £1850.

I think I will be sticking to CRT until they improve the LCD screens.

The problem also with plasma is the 400W power consumption, which is about 3 times that of a CRT TV.
