Masterplug Scart Switcher £19.99 (£5 off)

Picked one up at Tesco Extra (Cumbernauld) this morning for £19.99.

Quite good, has three inputs and one output. All RGB. Autoswitches (although that seems a little temperamental), and has a manual override.

Remember you`ll need an extra scart to go with it!!

You can see it at Argos for £29.99.

Picked up one of these a few months ago and had to take it back the next day >:( . The scart switched OK but the colour was not right. All whites came out beige and the Blues(literally) where tainted with green. I had Sky+, DVD and a video running through.

Just my experience.

Probably not worth it even at this price :/

Search through earlier threads and you`ll see my mini-review on it and why I had to return it.

One guy reported that his was fine and that he liked it but a few days later sheepish reported that he too had to take it back.

Due to the electronics involved in good switching I`m afraid "Cheapest is not bestest!"

I ended up with a Trilogy 3 - far superior, but far more expensive!

EDIT: Didn`t realise it was an electronic switcher, the products I referred to can`t really be compared with it!

Mmmm thanks for the heads up. I`ve read through that thread.

I`ve been happy with it so far - but it`s only been 24 hours, and I`ve only watched Sky through it. I`ll try a DVD with some explosions tonight to see how it copes. Not throwing away the receipt...

Problem is that space is an issue and this sits nicely in the cabinet vertically.

Anyone got any suggestions for a replacement if this one has to go back? Trilogy got mentioned - any pointers for where to buy?

Putting Sky+, DVD player and XBox through it (might also stick the Gamecube through it if it has enough inputs). Only real requirement is that it outputs RGB. Automatic/remote would be nice, but not necessary as I need to get off my bum to turn the XBox on or stick a disk in the player (but would be handly for channel hopping).
