Careful about the import duty limit

Be careful that this coupon offer (requiring you to spend $60+ CAD) may cause your order to be hit by import duty, VAT and maybe a PO handling charge (risks you take on any import shipment which is priced 18 pounds [$41 CAD] or higher). DVD Soon now not only itemise the order exactly on the package label, they also put the exact CAD$ amount on too, so the chances of customs hitting you are quite high if you use the coupon.

Thanks for the Coupon info...

Does anyone know if you can ship items individually when using the coupons, and thus avoid the tax problems?

I use DvdSoon quite a lot, everything I have ordered has come individually, even if they were all available at the same time.
They also put "12 CAD" on the package, even if it costs more than 12 Canadian Dollars.

Not any more, customs got to them and now they label everything with the actual price.

I recently made an order using the coupon, I got 6 DVD`s with free first class shipping. I chose titles that are all on different "On Order" days e.g. The Shining is 3-5 days and Amores Perros is 1-2 weeks etc. They are then shipped when they are available. A Better Tomorrow 1 + 2 arrived today, both in the same jiffy, priced at CAD$20.98 each bringing that package to just over CAD$41, the label stated how much they were, but I was not charged by customs.

[Insert humourous quote here.]
My DVD collection.

DVDsoon has been great, as stated above they do now always put the exact price on the package (in the old days always $12)

Often stuff comes singly if not immediately in stock, but if it all comes in one package you may get hit for customs duty.

So far customs haven`t been reading the names of the films, but if your postman knows what he wants, don`t expect it to get to you as it has the film name on the outside of the package!

These vouchers update everymonth and are a useful extra discount if you order enough!
