Amazon have The Police`s Sychronicity and Every Breath You Take (Greatest Hits) on SACD for £4.99 each. The are not released yet and it seems these are pricing errors as the other albums are £13.99 each. With P&P that works out at £6.45 for one or around £12 for both.

Seems like a good price but I don`t know much about SACD`s, apart from better music quality. Do you need a `special` CD player for these discs ?

If you can play them on a `normal` CD player I`ll definately order.

Yes, but watch out, they add postage at £1.75 AND then they add VAT to both figures

Amazon has, from what I can tell, stopped adding VAT to the P&P prices. It now states on their shipping page that VAT is included. So P&P for the one SACD worked out at £1.46. Yes you do need a dedicated SACD player for the enhanced sound but the Greatest Hits SACD can also be played on a normal CD player. I put this on the site because some DVD players (well some of the more expensive ones) are now becoming SACD compatable (and also DVD-Audio) with enhanced stereo sound and even 5.1 surround sound. Yes they are a good price as they tend to retail around the £15 mark.

Order placed. £11.73 for the two. We shall see if they honour it :)

Oh and the other thing that makes you think it`s an error is the picture for both SACD`s is `The Very Best of Scotland`...

I dont think SACD or DVD-Audio will take off that well as most people are happy with Mp3 and thats worse than CD!!

You can get a Thomson DTH-700 DVD-Audio DVD player for only £230 now but you would need a good Amp/Speaker setup to get the best from it though.

Mico...................Not many things render me speechless, but your posting almost did it! May I politely suggest that you go back to your MP3 player, strap on those headphones and leave hi-fi to those of us who both understand it and want it.

As I said from my post, "MOST" people are happy with Mp3 quality. Just look how many Mp3 Players/Programs there are! including most DVD players with Mp3 playback.

I`m sure the quality of SACD if good, its just most people have less money than you!

Amazon have put the `real` price on these albums now - 14 quid. My order still has them for 5 though. Teehee :)

Always been curious about this, but why don`t they just release song only DVDs that are Dolby Digital or DTS encoded instead of creating a brand new incompatible format?
