RE: Samsung M105 CDR ? Can it be done.

Had good results with Argos Vivastar CD-R`s....
Give them a go!

RE: pacific dvd regeion hack

Argos in the UK sell them for £99, so they are actually quite cheap!
QUality is ok, but would be even better with a remote hack!!!

RE: Samsung M-205 Macrovision disable

Nope - unless you use an external lead or summat!

RE: pacific dvd regeion hack

Are you sure there`s not a hack? It seems like a standard clone jobby, and it has support for NTSC, PAL and PAL 60 straight from the box...

PS If you take disk out, press 1,9,9,9 on the remote, then a box appears in the top left of the screen with 3 digits.....I tried pressing 0 and the box disappeared, but I don`t know if anything happened!!!

RE: Pioneer dvd-rom 105-need urgent help! Please!

No Problem.....

It seems that WinDVD is the best to play Region 1 discs.....

Any other problems,just shout!

RE: Pioneer dvd-rom 105-need urgent help! Please!

When you use DVD Genie to scan the disk, what region does it say it is?
Do you use DVD Genie to scan & set the region before playing?
What software are you using to play the DVD back with?

I`ve had the best results with WinDVD 3.0 DTS as it seems to be able to switch regions much easier than other players. ATI and/or Cinemaster based players DON`T switch regions correctly any more (earlier versions seemed fine). If you have an ATI graphics card, then you will need to get at least WinDVD 2000 V2.3 or above, as these have full support for the hardware decoding function in your graphics card.

Best of luck!!!

RE: Samsung 511 owners read this !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As said above, 511 hack *DOESN`T* remove Macrovision....
If you have taped vcd`s it is because they too can have the Macrovision removed......

RE: How do i play a vcd on Samsung 511 dvd Player

I believe you may get some kinda result if you use Vivastar CD-R`s from Argos....but don`t quote me on it! These have been known to work with Samsung`s before....

RE: macro hack for Samsung SV-DVD1E

Probably cheapest method is to get a Sonel Macmaster (scart lead which disables Macro) and route it back into the machine - set video source to external and Voila!

RE: I NEED HELP WITH MY SAMSUNG 709!!!

oBviously you have more money than me then, if you don`t see the point of a vhs copy :-)

RE: I NEED HELP WITH MY SAMSUNG 709!!!

Also, the region free hack disables Macrovision.....

RE: macro hack for Samsung SV-DVD1E

I think there probably IS a hardware hack that can be performed, as most Samsung`s have been able to be chipped....

Take a look around or wait till someone confirms it!

RE: Should I change player????

The Aiwa 370 is really an LG in disguise....
The new Lg models seem ok, but haven`t heard a great deal about them!!!

RE: samsung 511 or wharfdale m5?

Any way - Samsung 511 isn`t current player anymore....

Look out for the new range, including some with cd-r/rw support!

RE: Thomson DTH-3300....can I test to see if hack worked?

Yeah, borrow one!!!!

Only kidding, but that`s still the easiest way....

RE: Samsung MD105

Pretty sure there isn`t one.....
ALL new Samsungs have had it removed!

RE: Why do some players have Remote Hacks and others have to be chipped??

All down to the manufacturers...
Recently, great pressure has been brought on DVD player manufacturers regarding multi-region and Macrovision issues, and it is becoming increasingly difficult to buy players that are multi-region and/or Macro disabled. Bear in mind, that the regions were invented for a reason, same as Macrovision, and "bending" the rules doesn`t please everyone!

RE: samsung 511 or wharfdale m5?

511 still has Macrovision when hacked and so does the M5...

Heard quite a few reports that the M5 is seriously lacking in the quality control department. A few people have actually ended up returning them for a full refund as they stutter, skip and generally fail to play very well.
Tesco`s also seem to have a supply problem, as the website hasn`t got any, and most stores are low. BUT, the M5 has a built in DD/DTS decoder, and for pure value must win....

RE: Hack required for Samsung SV-DVD1E (Combined DVD/Video)

I think the good old 709 hack works....but I`m not sure!

One thing I DO know is that Macrovision isn`t disabled, so you won`t be able to tape your dvd`s, unless you buy a Macmaster and loop the signal around the scarts....(could someone confirm this??)

RE: macrovision disable hack for samsung dvd 511

That`s because there isn`t a Macrovision removal hack....
Firms do mods to remove Macrovision, but the hack doesn`t!

Sorry!

RE: Macravision! Wot`s that all about?!

And if you set your 709 to any-region mode, Macrovision is disabled too!

RE: Please, please, please help me....I just cant hack my Samsung-511...!!

Samsung 511 when hacked DOES NOT disable Macrovision. I believe that you will need a hardware solution to tape dvd`s either by a mod to the player, or an external hardware Macrovision remover!

Several places appear to offer them....

RE: schneider 811

And does this disable Macrovision???

RE: samsung sv-dvd-1e

I doubt that Macrovision can be disabled with the hack, all the latest Samsung models can be made multi-region, but Macro is still on!

RE: Samsung DVD611 hack dont disables macro on my player !!!!

That`s right boys & girls, the hack DOESN`T disable Macrovison!
Samsung bowed to pressure (like many other manufacturers) and removed the option....
