Go to Futureent.com , I got Robocop R1 at £10.99 . You get DD5.1 , a Perfect picture 1.85:1 ratio . But , you only get the Trailer as an extra , but at a Great price can you worry ?

I`ve had my Philips DVD735 for nearly Three years with no hassle at all ( Chipped it Myself ) . I got my Girlfriend a PhilipsDVD711 from www.linkonline.co.uk ( 007 Pack ) for £199.99 Multi Region . BUT ! My friend has just bought a Toshiba 210e and its an Excellent Machine and RCE compatable .

RE: Auto-detection problems.

Tricks

I do not have the mentioned products , but try this .

1 - Is your DVD player plugged into a loop through your VCR , Sat , etc ? if so try plugging it into its own AV slot .

2 - Do you have another product in a Scart socket ? If you do have one , if it is on , it can sort of ` cancel ` your freshly turned on DVD player . Try turning it off if there is one on , then turn your Player on .

3 - Try looking at on-screen options on your TV , it might be a simple click of a button , to perhaps make your TV Auto-detect the picture signal , if you have it locked on 4:3 ratio ?

Philips Paragon Chip RCE question

I have a Philips 735 , which I chipped myself with a Paragon Universal Series chip which I bought from DVDChips.co.uk . I have E-Mailed them , but I would like your advice or experiences on this matter . As yet I have not tried an RCE encoded DVD and was hoping some of you might of had the same chip fitted to your Machine . If so could you help me with my question ?

Hi there

I would use ` PowerDVDv3.0 ` and ` DVD genie ` to give you Multi Region usage .

Depending on your DVD Drive you might need a Hack/Bios change , as some Computer DVD Drives come as a set Region . But try the software first .

Yamaha DD5.1 on a Budget?!

Hi all

Just set my self up with a tasty sounding Yamaha Dolby Digital complete set-up for £169.99 !!! I kid you you not .

Don`t be put off by the price , it rocks , sounds very clear with a excellent range of sound from Terminator 2 UE to Jaws AE .

You get 5 Sat Speakers and a Sub . 1 Optical Input , 1 Co-Axial and 2 Analogue 3.5mm jack inputs , which uses the Dolby Pro-Logic if needed which sounds great ie tested with Star Wars ) . It only has a very small wattage , but if needed can go LOUD , while still retaining lovely sound . The reason being it is a sound system which is tailor made to be used together , thus , working very well as a system . The room I have is 12 Feet square , and the Volume Dial only needs a 1/3 turn to get the room Booming with Sound . It could fill a Larger room with no problem .

The Model Number is TSS-1 and you can choose from a complete Black or White coloured package .

Check out the Yamaha Web Site for more details/spec , you will be impressed for the price ! !

I got mine through Millenium Music in Nottingham , buy they have a Web Site for Mail Order .
