:) Funny. Yes headphones in. i know this as I heard tunes in my ear from the playlist. This is the guy however who did phone the Dell helpline and roared at some poor guy about lack of sound only to be asked `have you turned your speakers on?` To which i replied `What speakers?` I shall download convertor and hope it works.

HELP NEEDED PLEASE!!! ------ I-pod nano

HI there. firstly i would like to apologise if this in in the wrong forum, time is of the essence here and i figured the general forum is most popular when visiting the site.
Daughter`s birthday this Sunday. We have got her one of those nano thingies - the new slim ones and I have spend the last 4 hours trying to figure it out - no joke.
Very little problem putting music on it, copied the old favourite `test` playlist quite quickly but I cannot get videos to work on it for love nor money.
Not exactly true i synced it (??) and lots of vids that were on the p.c. went to I-tunes (my new Primark - places I hate to go!!) but only one was a music vid with sound all the rest from old digital camera with no sound. Anyway i tried to put it on and it told me something about not able to play it so I created an i-pod version as per instructions and transferred it and it plays fine but has no sound. Question 1 eh why?
Next I can`t seem to transfer all the music vids my daughter has to the i-library. Personally I can live without seeing the Jonas Bros and Mr Efron for a while but that`s not the point. I assumed correctly that they must be in the wrong format (avi) so i have tried unsuccesfully to convert. here is the story so far:
I have tried using i-tunes 8 to do it but no joy. I have tried using quicktime 7 pro to do it but can only get the vids to play the song (jumpy) with a white screen. I even tried winavi and converted the avi vids to mpeg1 and they worked in i-tunes but again no sound when transferred to the pod. Going mental!!

I am out all tomorrow so need to try and fix this today. I have been on to various websites but can`t seem to find anything new.
To recap I have the latest version of i-tunes, quicktime pro 7 and currently my quicktime settings are set to the direct x settings although i have tried them on safe mode GDI (don`t know if this is important).
Hate I-pods. Help please.

Actually took a sharp intake of breath when I read the posting just now, haven`t had t.v. on all day so had not heard. Truly sad day. Finest actor of his generation ( lancaster, Heston, Douglas etc). Sorely missed.
I once owned a lighter that played `Raindrops keep falling on my head` which is the first role I think of him in. Born cowboy.

Just like to say a big up to the wonderful person who stole my sons bike yesterday evening, my 5 year old son should i say. Little fella took a spill (just got his stabilisers off recently) and came here for some T.L.C. Upon returning to the crime scene - a mere 4 gardens length away he finds his pride and joy gone.
Many a tear has been shed today.

very sad indeed. Genuine true talent at what he did. had a look at a bio of his work and like so many other people could not believe how many of the films i have grown up with he was memorably involved in truly gifted. On a kind of funny note the list I read credited him with the make up for a Diana Ross TV performance, what a job - as I stated truly gifted! :D

hi there. My p.c is parked pretty much beside my tv so i was thinking of hooking up my p.c. to the t.v. to watch divx and the like. Seemingly i needed an s-video cable which i got and plugged it into my pc and the back of the tv via a scart thing. However i have no picture just blue screen. Any ideas? I have a dell 5150.

hi me again. Need a bit more advice, got piccies on and tried several suitable-ish songs (flying without wings etc)but really want the feather song from the end of Forrest GUmp. Trouble is the copy I have on me Forrest Gump soundtrack is the first part of a suite of piano tunes - lasts 20 minutes. I have tried to source the part on its own elsewhere but to no avail as yet. My question is then - what software would i need to i record just the part of the song i want so i can use it on the disc of piccies.

really really sad news indeed. was manager of killie when i used to go with boys from work and was a genuinely nice guy (we actually trained with the team so to speak one day beside Rugby park when match was snowed off). many tears will be shed this weekend all across scotland for sure. Spoke to a bunch of gers fans tonight who were down south yesterday and this was the first thing they spoke about. Puts silly cup finals etc in perspective.

I say invite them. You would have wanted your sister their on the day (half or no half). You don`t like this dude fine - he may not come anyway. After your wedding you have no obligation / reason to see / contact him again. Trust me you will enjoy your day the more knowing you did all you could on this front--- unless he is a twat and his `trouble` could ruin your day as a relative did mine - fight / violence/ police etc then DONT invite him other than that do. IMHO

:( :( :( like most peeps of my age / generation i `had them all`. ALL the original star wars dudes (£2.99 each), empire and return plus lots of ships falcon, slave 1, snow speeder, land speeder, x-wing, darths tie fighter, at-at, bespin thing plus the death star and many more. In my mid-teens gave what I hadn`t microwaved away to my little cousin in England ---- he now lives in a vila in the Seychelles!!! --- o.k. that last bit is a lie but the point is there. Now when I buy stuff for my kids I can`t help but think B.N.I.B. keep it in a box in the loft for 20 years then retire on it!!

o.k. lots here to bang on about,
1. I am hammered - apologise in advance cant be bothere correnting my spellling.
3. woodbridge the gazza booking. not offensive really. was booked for upsetting/upstaging the ref - check the yellow card incident unfair, he was targetted for being a liability - as mentioned before i kick with the left foot (catholic - celtic fan) saw it for wha it was.
with regard to Keegan. being honest/realistic. shopping for an investor possibbly. realises football no longer a comptitive sport but a BIG business. teams like N`castle and the like have no chance of ending up in top4 without a major cash unput from a millionaire etc. shame but reality. Can`t see any team stopping the shaven chested ones (chelsea) for a few years wit the possible excepption of on the day cup shocks which is pants for a guy who watched west ham, wimbledon and foredt reach the heights they did but business is business.
anyway off to bed now. big weekend ahead

would like to see Man U win myself. Reasons being;
1) I think they play more attractive footy than the pensioners.
2) `Like` more of their players - in a purely sporting admiration kind of way.
3)As a `Tic supporter I have painful memories of a certain chariman coming up here, employing a big shot manager and buying up all the good players both home grown and foreign to ensure success - familiar? don`t like it.
4)Always believed that (Russian) Chelsea were comparatable to the tide in the fact that they would keep coming until they achieved what they wanted. Always happy when they failed to reach the final as i think (thought) they would win it if they reached it - want to be proved wrong.
5)The day after Man U beat Bayern I sat a very important exam at college hung over beyond belief - thank you Ole. Only person on the planet i believe in a worse state than myself was the examiner who basically told us what to write on the paper - oh happy day. therefore I feel endebted to them bizarelly.

hi all. Just found out the wife and I are to be God-parents to a lovely little girl born last weekend - aawww. Anyway took some piccies of her and their family etc and wanted to bung them on a cd with music playing during slideshow - cheesy yes but still nice. I have nero 6 somewhere but little else. Any idea what would be the best software to use for this .

hello again.... not one to say told you so etc but who would have thought when I started this thread all those moons ago that rangers would actually be in the final.. well me. Wish i had more than £5 on them at the time 16/1 but heyho. I for one will be cheering them on in the final - remember of course i tend to park my popemobile the other side of Glasgow but scottish is scottish after all.

help please - what keeps happening to my chuffing music???!!!

hi there. i am confused. Media player keeps eating my music!!! I add the tracks to a new playlist etc and all works fine - sweet music for a short period of time (around 1-2 weeks usually). then I open playlist (any playlist) and get a long list of these dudes - !!!!!!!!! and none of the music is there - none at all. I have lots of playlists on media player and I have to transfer the same tracks over again (and Again). What is going on here? :(

Any ideas

looks like good deal...but seems quite expensive to refill. I had a (Canon) MP130 for years very reliable and cheap as chips to refill but this baby seems to come in around £20 for replacement carts - not refills. Anybody know where to get cheaper carts??

hi there. sorry was offline for a few days there. Games i had came from eh.. nova of mini site. seemingly my card (1gb) was too big for the gage to support so i got a 256mb instead. After much huffing and puffing finally managed to get it all sorted.

n-gage game questions

Hi there. probaly in the wrong forum but here goes anyway. Got an n-gage recently (an old one from a pal) and `got` some games from the web. Put them on the memory card (mmc) after I formatted it and stuck it in. However no joy. Can`t find the games at all, not on the n-gage menu or the memory card one either.
Basically I am stuck. the `games` had several folders in their files I stuck them all on the card - wrong? Do i need special software to play them ala DS/M3DS.

Now don`t get me wrong i am probably the last person i ever thought would genuinely be saying this ( I kick with the other football foot you see) but after tonights results you have got to kind of wonder. Spurs or Everton were the only ones that on paper looked a big challenge however not looking good for them now. genuinely hope Rangers do, good for the game etc but who would have thought that one.
