RE: Free Sky+ with TVs at Currys

Quote:
Some people are reporting that Currys have flogged it to them at £29 + £30 installation when they haven`t bothered buying a TV at all.

Exactly what i did. They wouldnt budge on a discount on the tv (samsung 32" LCD - looking for the £30 off) and gave the same reasons. But the sky+ deal on its own is still an excellent offer - especially for existing subcribers. And i can always get the tv cheaper from elsewhere, and most likely save that £30 anyway.

RE: Free Sky+ with TVs at Currys

not sure where he is going to buy the telly from yet, so went into currys yesterday and paid the £29 for the box (assured brand new btw), and £30 for installation - on the 17th. Bargain.

cheers Snaps.

RE: Free Sky+ with TVs at Currys

excellent - just happen to be looking for a new LCD tv for a family member, so looks like i might benefit from the favour for a change :)

RE: Free Sky+ with TVs at Currys

Hi

any idea if this offer is open to existing (standard) sky subscirbers?

RE: Laurel and Hardy collection (21 discs) £50

many thanks Peter - been after this for a few years (at a good price) - just reserved one at the Doncaster branch. Proper bargain :D

RE: More Free Sky+ - Expires 30th Nov

I might have misunderstood this deal.
Can a sky subscriber, with non sky+ box, recommend another sky subscriber with non sky+ box, resulting in both subscribers getting a free sky + box.
Or is that too much of a good deal for all when all sky wants are completely new customers ?

i would say you have to introduce a NEW customer, but i`d be glad to be told differently

RE: Captain Scarlet Series 2

you sure it wasent the 1st series you were looking at for that price. Series 2 is now £29.99, but series 1 is that £11.99. Apologies if seires 2 was that price when you first posted.

RE: Free CD Wow Voucher

nice of whoever used it, to leave a thankyou to the original poster :-/

Not a `Free` 512meg memory stick, but.....

a 1gig memory stick for £9.90, if you add anything else to your basket at `Bigpockets.co.uk`

Only thing it doesent make clear, is if its USB 2.0 or not.

RE: Official 2006 BBQ and beer bargain thread

Like everyone else, i very much appreciate any bargains that people post on this forum (whatever the goods). But have to say, seen these `official` type threads before, in other forums. All they really do is fragment the forum info further. I`m sure the mods would add sub-forums, if they thought it necessary.

RE: Battle of Britain 2 disc set mispress

thanks for the heads-up Mike. I dont normally look in the other forum sections, so handy for me you accidently posted in here :-)

checked mine (also from blah) and luckily i have the correct disks.

RE: DVD mis-price alert

"already been posted do they ever read the post"

cheers jimmy

RE: Silverscreen Offers

called in my local branch today (doncaster), and neither the deer hunter or mad max were the 2 disc versions - at least the ones @£2.99

not sure if you meant those were or not.

RE: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (Extended Edition Box Set)

good spot, and actually cheaper still @ £27.99 :-)

has anyone used 101cd before?

joe

RE: Cheaper alternative to Ebay - www.ioffer.com

Shame it looks geared mostly towards the U.S. I imagine postage costs to the U.K would make a lot of items less of a bargain.

RE: Free Jack Nickelson DVD

do you know which Nicholson film it is?

RE: Cheap Bush 28

socks

Check that you have done the following......

1. Make sure you are viewing the digital signal of the built-in freeview (most things will be broadcast in widescreen and distortion free - including Natasha Kaplinski :) )

2. Check that the tv is set to `automatic` picture format (or equivalent)

3. If you have skydigital, make sure thats set to `16:9` in the services/picture menu/format

RE: Born on the 4th of July

so which was the right price?

RE: GTA San Andreas for PC, Whats the cheapest place to pre-order it from?

no, i meant that they did previously sell `GTR` (the racing game) for £7 less than play.com, so you never know, they might occasionally beat play.com woith other games as well.

So, could be worth keeping an eye out for thier price on GTA San Andreas (when they list it)

joe

RE: GTA San Andreas for PC, Whats the cheapest place to pre-order it from?

the only other place i`ve ever seen beat play.com on a pc game pre-order, was sendit.com. But i cant see it listed on there yet.

btw - the game was `GTR`, and for a limited time, sendit were doing it for £17.99, as apposed to £24.99 at play.

RE: THE INDEX CLOSING DOWN SALES STARTS TODAY AT INDEX

easy there mate - i think most people would assume that a closing down sale would take place a month or so before closure, so its was fair to think that these 10% prices would be the end thing. But thanks for the advice on a personal visit - i`ll have to get off my `but` and go see :-).

RE: free sample of listerine.

Good spot.

cant beat something foe free that you use anyway :)
