Amstrad DX3092 DIVX Player

All you geniuses out there - Has anyone found a multi-region hack for this £20 machine from Currys?

Any help would be much appreciated!!!!

Wharfdale WDP-1210

Just bought one of these in the last week and the screen size of this machine for the price seemed very reasonable!

No contrast settings for screen that are obvious so only way of altering is with brightness level which can be a bit restrictive! Never had a portable before so nothing to compare with.

Anyone interested I have managed to make the machine multi-region.

Open disc tray (probably worse part of the machine - very clunky!!!)
On remote press numbers 8 1 3 2 8 - a Region heading should appear on screen
Press ENTER on remote and it should change the number from 1 - 6 and 9
(9 seems to be multi-region)
Close disc tray

Hope this works for you as it did for me!!

If anybody finds anything else about this machine then would be interested to find out - especially if it can play DIVX!! (If anyone can tell me how you can recognise a DIVX disc ie from file format I would be very thankful)

RE: RAM to -R without using TMPG DVD AUTHOR 1.6 Help

If you have Nero you can import the RAM disc through NERO Vision Express using import DVD-VR under the make DVD option. I have had some problems with the discs not being read immediately but with perseverance you should be able to play about through this. All your editing can be done through this program and then burnt to DVD-R.

RE: Burning programmes from dvd-ram to dvd-.. what do I need to use ?

If you have Nero burning suite (v6) which has the smart start front end - you can use Nero Visionexpress which allows you to create new DVDs, with one option being to import from a DVD-RAM disc. This also allows you some editing features and simple menu creation also.

Anyone bought the Lite-on 5045 with 160GB hard drive yet?

Just wondering if anyone has taken the plunge with this machine yet and whether they would like to share their findings??
