RE: Yellow RGB Picture on Pacific 1002 DVD PLayer

I`ve tried a few different scart leads, no joy.

Yellow RGB Picture on Pacific 1002 DVD PLayer

I`ve had my Pacific for about a month now, but I`ve noticed that the RGB picture on it has a slight yellow tint to it. Thing is, I can`t remember if it was always like that or if it has only recently gone yellow. At first I thought it was my TV, but my NTL digibox outputs RGB and on that the white`s are whiter than daz whites!! So it aint the TV. Should I take it back for a replacement or is this par for the course? If so, I`ll get a refund as I still have the receipt.

Note, it`s not a completely yellow picture, it`s just that anything white looks like it`s...the best way I can describe it is "p***-stained".

RE: Cheapest Multi-region DVD PLayer with RGB output?

Gentlemen, a thousand thank-you`s!!! Just got home with the unit, and after a moments shock when I saw a composite picture, there was much relief had when I set the picture to RGB. It players Layer Cake no problem (my Sharp refused to play it) and I`ll hack it later so that I can play all my old R1 dvd`s!! Wicked!

Cheapest Multi-region DVD PLayer with RGB output?

Hi guys, like the title suggests I`m lookinh for the cheapest multi-region DVD player that has RGB output, it MUST HAVE RGB!! I bought the Ronin only to find, to my horror that the picture was sheeite because of no RGB, I managed to sell it to a girl in work for what I paid for it so no harm done, I`m not gonna make the same mistake again though, would be nice if it played MP3, CD-R/RW and DVD-R/+R but not essential. I don`t want to pay any more than £49.99

RE: Should I wait?

Thanks for all your help guys, especially davo171066. After checking a lot of things out it looks like the plasma`s are starting to come down in price, I think I`ll wait until the end of the year and see what my options are depending on my money situation and the prices of the various units. :)

Cheers guys :)

RE: Layer Cake DVD problems?

Update, just for you guys to know. The original copy I had was from play.com, I swapped it this afternoon for another copy at my local Silverscreen in Swansea. Just got in, exact same problem! heh, I`ve been looking for an excuse to by a separate DVD player to go with the surround anyway (as the sharp is not region hackable, as if that wasn`t enough of an excuse!) I think I`ll go for the Ronin on play.com as it`s only £29.99, any good? (for the price that is) Later on in the year (when I have money) I`ll go for something better.

Should I wait?

Ok, at the moment I only have a 24" 50/60hz Widescreen TV. I`m thinking of getting something, newer and bigger and preferably a LOT flatter (to save space). Price isn`t really that much of an issue but I will NOT compromise on pikcture quailty, I`ve seen plasma`s and LCD`s and the picture quality is AWFUL!!! I`ve heard good and bad things about 100Hz tv`s and have come to the conclusion that they are pointless. So, with all this in mind, should I wait a while until new technology is released? (HDTV?) Also, is there anything on the horizon other than HDTV that may be better?

Layer Cake DVD problems?

I might be posting a bit early here (seeing is the film aint officially out until Monday) but I`ve got Layer Cake on DVD, and it won`t play on one of my DVD players (which just happens to be the only one with surround sound!!). The second disc is fine, it`s just the first disc with the film on it!! It works on my old Grundig and the REALLY old Matsui I bought my parents for xmas years ago, but it won`t work on my SHARP SD-AT50, it`s a DVD & Surround combo, but you CAN you use the surround seperate with another dvd player, so I have managed to watch the film, but I don`t want to keep borrowing my old one from my mum or buy a new one.

I`m wondering if it`s just maybe a slightly bad disc, I got it from play.com but I`ll take it to a shop on Tuesday for a replacement and see if that makes any difference, I`m just wondering if anyone else has any problems with this disc?
