RE: Help with Eczemaplease.

My wife used to use 1% hydrocortisone cream twice a day, she now use 0.5% once a day, and sparingly at that. Two creams have helped her cut down:

Aqueous cream - this is just a simple moisturiser, no perfume or anything else added. You can also wash with it, so you can cut out soap. Costs about £2 for a 500gm tub

Unguentum M - this is a heavy duty moisturiser, not something you can use before going out. It`s expensive at about £18 per 500 gm tub, but goes a long way. My wife puts in it on top of the HC cream at night. Also good on sun burn.

Echo the posts saying get the best medical advice, and maybe your sister`s doc can prescribe the Unguentum M.

Don`t know if anyone`s already suggested changing washing powder? It might help.

`Do Not Use Rechargeable Batteries`

Why NOT ???

I think it`s because the manufacturers haven`t tested it with rechargables, and they`re just covering themselves.

RE: non hdcp?

Chris is correct, you won`t see anything from a HDCP protected DVD if your screen is non-hdcp.

All dvd players with a DVI or HDMI output should add HDCP to the output, however, some can turn HDCP off (like the Samsung HD850 and 950)

RE: Audio to CD

Bux46,

It`s not clear what type of tape you mean. Do you mean VHS video tapes or Audio Cassette tapes.

If VHS, then you can get a lead with a scart plug on one end and phono plugs on the other from many high-street shops. Two of the phonos will carry the audio.

RE: e2save - has anyone had their 1st month 60 quid back yet?

I`ve had 6 months line-rental refund. Needed 1 email to chase them up.

Sent off for the refund on our 2nd phone and got a Text confirming receipt in a couple of days. Should get the cheque in the next 3 weeks.

Sounds like you`re on a different deal, but so far e2save have kept their part of the baragin with me.

RE: HDTV LCD

Spec page http://www.hitachidigitalmedia.com/DMG/viewProduct_1.jsp?productid=465&drilldown=2&urlnumber=0

says it has "HDMI (HDCP)" and a resolution of 1366x768

Think that means it is HD Ready. :B

RE: The Doctor is back at last!

Is my memory failing, or was Rose wearing a little red hoodie in the last episode?

RE: Which Coolpix Camera?

Re Boots sale:
They had about a quarter of the cameras in the cabinet on sale. I suspect they`re clearing old or discontinued stock. Included Sonys, Nikons and Canons.
Probably got the sale prices online as well, but if they`re clearing stock you might be able to haggle a better price in the shop.

RE: Which Coolpix Camera?

Forgot to say: nip into your local Boots, they`ve got some on sale at about half price.

RE: Which Coolpix Camera?

how many pics would I be able to fit on to a 1gb card?

Depends on mega pixels and compression.

1 week at Lake Garda with a 3.2 MP Konica HD310Z (no longer made I think) and a 256MB card. Filled the card with over 300 pics at full resolution but highest compression.

The picture files range in size from 250 KB to 750 KB depending on how much they could be compressed.

So I`d get well over 1000 pics from a 1GB card :D

Note: you`ll snap away much more with a digital camera than with a film camera.

Now,why do you think Aldi give a 3 year guarantee...
Perhaps because no-one would touch the things otherwise ?

Oh, you cynic :p

Perhaps you should ask why Unbeatable`s warrantee for the Sony and Hitachi costs so much?

RE: Guys, can you spec me a HD ready TV please?

Because Aldi give you a 3 year warrantee included in the price.

Of course you don`t have to, which is why I said "you might like to".

RE: Is it about time the UK brought back the death penalty?

Quote:
What about those prisoners, who are undeniably guilty and sentenced to multiple consecutive life sentences? Surely the 50+ years they are in jail is a massive drain on taxpayers?

If they know that doing this will result in the death penalty, I think you`ll find that they`ll put up the strongest case they can. You`d better factor in the cost of the longer trials before you count any savings.

And some of them might get off completely!

RE: Guys, can you spec me a HD ready TV please?

For a fair comparison with the Aldi you might like to add £279 for a 3 year warrantee.

RE: Is it about time the UK brought back the death penalty?

Mother`s who`ve killed their children?

RE: Guys, can you spec me a HD ready TV please?

No, rix500 is using the right cable. The Tevion advert said it accepted HDCP through the DVI socket so is clearly designed for this.

Worth posting a query on av forums where there are plenty of 745 owners.

Only suggestion I can make is that maybe the Tevion isn`t accepting the HDCP signal from the 745. You could try the multi-region hack for the 745 that also disables HDCP.

The hack can be found here:

That`s a bit of a shame if you`re Welsh but don`t speak Welsh.

RE: Anybody recommend an Internet site for buying new UK cars?

http://www.autobytel.co.uk/ is another one to check.

I`ve never bought online though; I get a online price then get a main dealer to match or beat it. Worked for the last two new cars I`ve bought. :)

RE: Guys, can you spec me a HD ready TV please?

Re Aldi 32 inch LCD.

So what about this TV`s spec is inferior?
How do you know this isn`t a decent one?
What do you think would be a decent one?

RE: Guys, can you spec me a HD ready TV please?

Quote:
£ 749.99 is a lot of money in anyone`s book,so why would you `waste` it on a product that will,by definition due to it`s price,be inferior ????

Not sure what you mean?

"£ 749.99 is a lot of money" means it`s expensive?
"by definition due to it`s price,be inferior" means it`s cheap?

Confused?

To the OP: Buy the Aldi, try it at home, if you don`t like it or find it inferior, take it back.

RE: What camera will give me this quality photos?

If you look at your photos on a 1600 x 1200 monitor, then 2 MP are all you can see, any more are wasted.

But if you zoom in or print, more pixels are needed.

Generally 3 MP are considered `OK` for up to A4 prints - obviously more pixels are better (can`t make up for a poor lens though).

sjb

P.S. I have a 3.2 MP Konica.

RE: Electrical Advice Please. 12v Halogen Lights??? (Watts and Volts query)

You just need to add up the Watts.

On a brighter note, halogen bulbs are supposed to produce more light per Watt than conventional bulbs, so you`ll get a bit more light from your 3 halogen bulbs than 1 conventional 60W.

RE: The Doctor is back at last!

Yeah, the "Massive weapons of destruction" that didn`t exist.

RE: Electrical Advice Please. 12v Halogen Lights??? (Watts and Volts query)

Your 3 halogen lights will take 60 Watts, but the transformer will not be 100% efficient, so you`ll be taking slightly more than 60 Watts from the mains. So I think the answers `No`.
