A note for Mac users. The Software on the CD does not include the drivers for OSX. You have to download it from the Samsung website.

Go to the O2 website & sign up to use the free text messaging service. I did & got an email last week offering me the free simcards. It was limited to 4 only, but I`ve applied for them anyway. It stated on the email that the offer that I had received was only open to the person that had been emailed.

I have just bought the MP3 player. I was a bit dubious because I use a Macintosh but it worked straight out of the box. A lovely little bit of kit.

I bought several packs of what are called "battery upsizers" from Hamleys in London. They were selling them off at 99p for a pack of 4. You can put an AA battery in a sleeve & it will make it a C or D size. Very useful. I`ve done a search but can`t find them in the UK but they sometimes appear on ebay. Here is a picture to get the idea

Venturer DVD home cinema system £59.99 at Tescos

Popped into my local Tesco in Sale & saw the Venturer DVD system on clearance for £59.99. Now I bought one of these little systems before Christmas when it was £89 & I thought it was a bargain then. It can be R1 hacked. For the kid`s room it is great. At this price, I think I might buy a few for the bathroom, toilet, caravan, garden shed!

No, it isn`t the one you show. I can`t find a picture sorry.
It hacks for multi region:
Open the tray
Press 8, 1, 3, 2 and 8
The region menu will appear, then press enter until region 9 is selected and press Play
The unit will now be multi region.

Considering the size & power of the all in one system it sounds very good for the money. I am using it on a 24" widescreen sanyo with a very good scart lead & the picture is good with black blacks & good colour & contrast. I usually watch on a 37" plasma using a Pioneer DV 747A & I don`t feel short changed!
