how do i know if a fone is blocked ?

son came home from school earlier with a fone he had bought from a mate , but it wont remain on, is it blocked and how does a block manefest itself ?:S

if u are taking ur incoming wires and connecting them directly to the rear of the pre filtered faceplate then all ur outgoing signals from the FRONT of this plate will be pre split and will not require another filter, the issue comes when u hard wire ur extension from the rear of the plate to a second ( or third ) plate, am sure these plates will need to be pre-filtered to ensure a decent connection to prevent cross talk and noise.

evening, have just got back from a local pc fair, myslef looking at wirless connectivity for one pc and a notebook
for approx £65 u can buy now a wireless router with pmcia card for ur laptop all rolled in, running at up to 108mbts much faster than the norm
u will also need to purchase a pci card for each of ur desktops, again around about £10-15
search the big ads in the national papers , the likes of currys , pc world etc occasionally have good one off deals

the distance inside ur house, ie the length of cable u use - becomes irrelevant since it is actually the TOTAL distance ur pc is from the exchange u are connected to, usually it will be withing 3 km of ur house, much further and u WILL see a degradation of signal, so u need to find out which exchange u are conneced to and distance,
try using
http://www.samknows.com/broadband/index.php
to locate ur exhange, this site will also tell u if there are any other prviders in ur area or any due to install equip,.

it is worth noting that the nearer u are to ur exchange the greater the signal u can recieve, Bulldog ( cable and wireless) are at the mo offering up to 4 meg for what bt/kc want with a max signal being 8meg over ur twisted copper pair

folks, pc is running massively slow, and shows upon startup the the above file or route is missing, any ideas ? did a google search and only got foreign sites difficult to understand...any help greatly appriciated

planning on upgrading the family tele to something more substantial, cash isnt too much of a problem , £2k is as far as it goes, which is better and what really is the difference ? :/

tele isnt used for anything other than the usual sky, teresteral,(spelt that wrong me thinks) dvds etc,

a friend of mine just had a replacement sim and fone delivere by O2 after a theft, fone wasnt used since theft either.
prblem is, once the sim had been activated, as per O2 directions, it came up with ALL THE ORIGINAL NUMBERS AND NAMES !
now, numbers i could accept since tis possible for them to see the most frequently called numbers and add to sim details, " but certainly not the names too !
friend had never used a system like carfone warehouses sim copying service so there was no way anyone had details of names etc
anyone else seen/had this happen ??
and if they can see details like names n numbers, what else are they able to do ?

a quick one for u, i went to a local computer fair recently there was a stall selling a simple plug-in pci card offering ALL satalite channels free via broadband .
at only £57 a time, anyone know if they work or could it poss be a scam ?

ghosting just dodgy cables ???

evening gents,

just purchased and set up a new 5:1 sys, (set up in the loosest possible sense)
am getting ghosting on the start menu screen with the dvd.
am using basic gold plated cables from cambridge audio from both video and dvd to tele and also coax from cable to tele via video, any help greatly appreciated ! :)

now, i am beginning to think i`m losing my marbles !!!

is there REALLY a cordless 5:1 surround sound package out there on sale or was i dreaming again ???

afternoon folks, tried using my Oritron for the first time in ages and found that i am "locked out" !!
The power LED is on but perminately in stand-by mode, no amount of button pressing , on/off switching or encouraging knocks seem to make any difference.
There is also a `lightbulb` LED showing on the display which i cant seem to remember being there before
