RE: Acoustic Solution 19in Widescreen HD Ready LCD TV £149.99 at Argos

HDMI to DVI leads are quite cheap on Ebay.

What was meant by a convertor......?
You dont need one, whatever it is, just a lead.

RE: Component cables from high street

You dont have time to buy them off the internet......?
It takes minutes, how can you have the time to buy them from the High Street then.

Am I missing something there.

RE: NTL Digibox and DVD Recorder Connection

If its just a case of wanting to put a screw in type connector into a normal aerial socket, just by an adapter, one end has a thread the other an ordinary TV aerial connection.
You screw the end into the cable leaving the aerial connector to go into your DVD recorder.
Simple.
Not sure of the long winded reply above.

I got some the other day out of Homebase..

£1.97, 99p online but you will have P&P.

Just realised why the long winded thread, good idea. ;)

RE: Sky Broadband upto 16MB Unlimited download Ten Pound Mth (Sky Cust Only)

Its alright claiming to give a 16mb service.
Much more difficult to actually provide it.

Aldi Tevion 8 in 1 remote

Anyone bought one of these, I`ve got it to work on my TV, Video, DVD and Hi-Fi but for some reason I cannot get it to work my Sky Box.
Does anyone know if I need to do something different to get the Sky Box to work or do the boxes not allow another remote to work them. >:(
Cheers.

RE: Cat 2050 From Lidl

Get a one from the medion website www.medionshop.co.uk
350 watts for £59.99 + p+p

Only took 2 days to come, really great quality and you can keep £60 too.

RE: help with getting a new dvd home cinema

I just got a Medion Home Cinema system 350 watts for £59.99 at www.medionshop.co.uk
Less than £4 delivery and got it within 2 days.
Not sure if theres a multi region hack for it but I`ve got to say for less than £60, it is of really high quality.
Have a look at it, you wont be disappointed.

RE: Even better mp3 deal.!!!>>>256mb mp3 player for 19.92!!!!!

I`ve used Aria loads of times, ordered the 1GB version on Saturday, just using the Royal Mail option and recieved it this morning, £55 in total.

RE: Sky + £49.95 + bonus

I got an 80GB one too. :)
The installer did say, I am still limited to 20 hours recording though.
Think it was 20, could be wrong I usually am.

RE: 42

I bought one last week.
Its badged as Tevion but its a LG panel with 2 Samsung Tuners.
Sound is a bit tinny so I`ve got it going through my Hi-Fi, with its audio out connections.
Its also HDTV ready.

RE: H E L P ! ! !

www.aria.co.uk have some cheap mp3 players.
Most of the stuff on their website seems very reasonable to me.

RE: Is My Mouse Posessed??

Is it a Trust optical mouse because mine does the same.
It moves up and to the left diagonally.
Not all the time just now and again.

RE: Epson R200 settings

Yes I was using Widows Picture viewer, I will change to the Photoquicker software.
Thank you for your advice.

Epson R200 settings

Can anyone advise me on the settings to use for digital photo`s.
The images when printed are very dull and dark.
I did print a picture a few weeks ago which was alot better but I cant remember the settings I used.
Thanks.

RE: Epson R200 Printer £49.99 @ Dixons

Tried to get one yesterday, travelled a fair few miles to be told there was none left.
Tried on the Dixons, Currys and PC World Websites yesterday, all out of stock.
Anyway tried this morning and Currys site had it back to £84.99, looked on Dixons and there it was, so I`m not that bothered about my travelling in vain yesterday.
:) :) :)

RE: Portable DVD players

Seems like they`ve jumped down in price since I ordered the kids one for Christmas.
Not 100% certain but almost sure that you can get a 7inch for £99.
Just cant remember where I seen it advertised.

Pacific 900

When setting this up through a scart lead, the text on the terrestrial TV becomes really dark.
I tried adjusting the scart lead into the TV only to either lose the sound or vision.
Seems like when you push the scart lead right in, it is causing some kind of interference.
I thought it may be the scart lead itself but tried with another and got the same result.
There isnt a problem running the STB with it through a 3 in one scart box apart from the teletext concern.
Anyone got any ideas...?
Thank you.

Venturer PS166W Portable DVD player

Can anyone tell me if this player plays DVD-R`s.
Im not so bothered about multi region as I only have region 2 dics anyway.
Thank you.

RE: Plasma Package from Tiny

The ad I saw never had the resolution on it.
Anyway I`ve been advised to stay away from plasma`s.
A workmate of mine has a friend in the electrical business and he says theyre forever having problems with recalls etc.
Thought it was too good to be true anyway.
Just like the thought of a large screen TV, are rear projections any good....???

Plasma Package from Tiny

There was an ad in the Daily Star yesterday for a plasma screen with allsorts of extras including a 5.1 decoder, 5.1 speakers, a DVD recorder, a stand and a internet tv box (not that I`d want one) but this package is only £1299 plus £99 delivery.
The plasma is badged as Tiny but is a 42" Samsung.
It`s resticted to the first 1500 customers.
I had a look on the website but it does`nt give anymore information, other than a number to phone.
Just thought I`d let you all know as it seems a bargain.
If only the Mrs didnt want loads of other things for the house.
Ah well thats life, good luck to any of you who get one.

physic mediums

Having watched a few on living tv, I`m wondering if anyone thinks they are a load of conmen or do you believe them.
What sways me into thinking they are conmen is that, if I was able to communicate with the dead then surely they would give me their names clearly. Not as the medium says "Who`s the `t` sounding name like Tod or tom tommy tony". Then he will go on and describe everything else crystal clear.
Seems false.

RE: is this guy for real?

Well personally I dont give a fook.

RE: Give That Man The Sack!!!

Well I`m used to getting beat, so sacking the manager when you lose A game does seem a little strange.
Football fans are a fickle bunch. I do think Chelsea have created a lot of problems by buying too many players, championship winning sides normally have one great player per positon and a good one for back up. Chelsea to me are in the position of having lots of great players per position, but which players will work best together will be an absolute nightmare to discover.
Saying that however although they are great players quite a lot of them are not the best in the world in their particualr positions. If youve got the capacity to buy the best, to me it should have been the worlds best, in my opinion Chelsea have fell short.

RE: Follow on from Eighties thread - does anyone remember bogies? Not the snotty ones...

We called them Bogies dave.
Usually pulled a pram to bits for the back wheels. Im from the north east and Bogies were what we called them, are you a notherner too.
I can remember being pulled along behind a bike on one of those three wheeler tractor things, only for it to tip over and be dragged a fair few yards cheek first.
I started screaming like you do when youre a kid but it didnt hurt that much really but I balled my eyes out anyway.
I can remember going back to school and them thinking I`d been a victim of domestic violence, but their werent any scratches or bruises off my parents just broken bones.
No only kidding I had quite a good childhood, I could get up to the eyes in muck and it wouldnt be a problem to my mother. If my kids get dirty my missus goes off it with them.
How things change.

RE: My computer keeps bloody restarting! =(

I had the same problem, opened up the case and found the heatsink had popped off, pushed it back on and the problem went away.
It could be a over heating problem, is your pc in direct sunlight this can cause restarting.
Hope this helps you.

RE: Mobile phone advice needed - I`m looking to upgrade

Why are you wanting to upgrade...?
Is it your mates have the all singing all dancing camera phones.
IMO although I do have a mobile, I think these people who text message 50 times a day and take photos of their dogs, cats, goldfish and sunday dinners are a bunch of d*******s.
So my advice is dont become a d******* yourself save your money and
get something better instead.

RE: Anyoneperson who pruchas with cable, sky, freeview, DVB tv, in fact - Everyone, read this please.

I think its as simple as the aerial socket used must have a cable signal.
The video will be hyberband and will therefore pick up the signals of the extra channels (similar to how you can pick up police signals etc with a scanner).
I`ve seen similar things in the past where with a hyperband T.V tuner, a person has been able to find Sky Sports.
