RE: DVD Soon gone bust...

I wouldn`t bank on that email even being genuine.

Its very poorly worded and why if all pending orders are being honoured, are refunds etc not being honoured.

It sounds more like DVDSoon trying to refloat the boat by ditching debt and pretending to be a new company.

Also if this new firm took over last month why hasn`t the DVDSoon website been updated with the information. This is the website of the supposed new owners: http://www.cdsltd.ca/main.php

RE: Silverscreen Offers

Its SilverVISION that does the WWE disks!

Personally I find Silverscreen to be very overpriced.

Same story here.

RE: sports clothing - silly prices

Was in the Hull branch today, windows are whitewashed and it clearly states closing down sale. As I was sceptitical that a shop that was closing down would have bothered to have special labels printed etc(look at the packs of socks, you`ll find the 70% off labels are under the actual cellowrap!) I asked one of the sales people if the sale was a gimmick or for real.

After first saying that he/she didn`t know they added that they had only been told to put all the goods(mostly) on offer. After a bit of nagging though they did admit they`re not closing for good......

RE: epson r200 49.99 instore

Not sure how you got away with that as the print can be as small as they like. In fact an asterisk or other symbol after the price leading to T & C`s elsewhere would be all that was needed.

RE: 5% off @ svp

The discount is only on storage items, cases or boxes. Not media etc.

RE: Colditz Tv Series

I doubt this will see the loght of day anytime soon as aljar said it suffers from clearence problems. Even when its been shown on UK Gold a handful of episodes have never been aired.

Shame as it is an excellent series.

RE: Fuji Digital Cameras make like a budgie

I think this is what prompted 7dayshop to change their t&c`s:

The following report from accountants Deloittes will be of interest to people who buy film etc from suppliers such as 7dayshop , Play etc:
"Following the attack by Customs on Dollond & Aitchison's provision of contact lenses from Jersey, we have received confirmation that the use of the low value import relief rules is being challenged nationally. The rules exempt packages sent to private individuals from outside the UK from import VAT if they have a value of less than £18. Businesses supplying such goods from Guernsey and Jersey are currently being closely questioned by Customs as to whether orders are split into separate packages and whether the persons running the business originate from the UK

RE: Fuji Digital Cameras make like a budgie

You have to becareful buying from 7dayshop now as they have recently added this to their `about us` pages:

If your delivery address is outside of Guernsey you may be subject to duties/taxes/charges which may be levied once the package/s reach the delivery destination. Any such charges must be bourne by you. We have no control over these charges and we cannot predict what they might be.

RE: dvd recorder £199.99

Not sure where you get the fact that Minus DVD is winning the format wars, there are now over 200 models of Plus writers (standalone) on the market.

Its unlikely that minus will win either as plus dual layer will be here first.

Having said that its likely the next generation of recording format will be along pretty soon and that will meaning having to buy a completely different drive etc.

RE: 50% off at BBC Shop

I can`t get the discount on any of the larger sets, works on Lovejoy, and Vol 4 or Red Dwarf, have tried a few others and they worked but no chance on Blackadder.

RE: 50% off at BBC Shop

Just ordered Lovejoy for £15 but then went back for more stuff and code no longer works. Looks like its been fixed.

Definately not working now as just tried using fiancee`s details and it wasn`t having any of it.

Weird goings on as its on again now. Must be hit and miss!!!

RE: Doctor Who - Dalek Collectors Edition @ Larger WH Smiths Store £14.99

This doesn`t appear to be everywhere, Middlesbrough store has quite a few left but only with £10 off the original price of £39

RE: Grundig DVD Recorder for £180

Don`t forgot Grundig no longer exist. They went bust earlier in year. Not sure if anybody bought them up though.

After sales may be a problem.

Free DVD-R`s

Fancy a couple of printable DVD-R`s from a new company looking for business.

Pop along to www.kpm-dvd.co.uk and then go to the offers section.

If they work you have nothing to lose, if they don`t let them know.

I`ll be giving away some of these disks and more over at this site

RE: dirt cheap dvd -r media! 29p each

I`m not going to add the RAM format as I just don`t feel there`s enough call for it. I don`t even see RAM disks at my local computer fair.

RE: dirt cheap dvd -r media! 29p each

Its a real lucky dip this, if you look at the bottom of the page it says:

As these discs are grade B they are exempt from our warranty and are not recommend for the NEC 1300A & SONY Writers.
The packs that you receive will be of the same brand (IE the packs are not several brands in one pack) as we have serval brands that are being used for this end of line selection

RE: Free

The N.O.T.W has a print run of just over two million copies. Only 110000 DVD`s were made available using the above figures.

Murdoch massacre again.

RE: Virgin Sale Started Today

There are some of the sale offers online but I could only find the Star Trek stuff instore.

RE: Blake`s 7 - Complete Series 1

Now confirmed that it won`t be released this year.

RE: Blake`s 7 - Complete Series 1

Took this from the B7 Website:

According to BBC Worldwide the release date is now Oct 27th.

RE: Blake`s 7 - Complete Series 1

I wouldn`t hold your breathe with regards to the B7 DVD`s. There are still rights issues to be sorted out between Fabulous Films who are publishing the disks and the BBC/Terry Nation estate.

If you are a fan of Nations work you may have noticed that all rights for his work are currently up in the air due to excessive demands by his estate. This is why no Dalek stories can be aired in the second half of the year and for the foreseeable future.

The BBC don`t seem too bothered as there is only a small market for most of Nations work, ie UK Gold. As they probably won`t any of the stuff on BBC1/2 there is little chance the Beeb will want to shell out vast sums of Licence payers money on old programming.

Don`t look for the B7 stuff before Xmas.

check out the revamped www.blakes7.com site for more.

RE: epson photo printer 830u £49

Yep you need to take the newspaper with you. They also have PS2 and XBox chart titles at £29.99. I went to my local store this morning and several people were complaining about this ad and the manager wouldn`t budge because they didnt have the ad. Don`t think he was too happy when I lent them my paper. Shame!

RE: Dab tuner £79.95+ post & packing

I`d be very wary of this model as it suffers from a variety of faults.

1. Sound fades
2. Poor display, that sometimes fails
3. Total failure

It also has only 4 presets and is fiddly to operate.
