Scart Controller (Holdan HSR-1000)

In my opinion, this is the best Scart Controller yet. Its a controller with 6 Scarts and can be switched using a remote control. Just ordered one (should be £100), but found it for £64-99 + VAT and its arriving tomorrow!

Currys have sold out in my area covering a 20 mile radius. They did a check on the system and found out. I don`t know why they bothered to advertise it on the telly if they`ve sold out - I guess the sneaky blighters just want us to get through the door...

Standard TV Amplifiers will not work because of the sensitivity of the voltage of the TV link.

The only ones that I have seen that do work are the SLX range - which you can get from maplin or other electrical stores. (i.e. SLX 4X)

If you go to maplin.co.uk, they have a bargain at 19-99 for the 4-way SLX Booster that is definately compatible.

Hi,

yeah - I`ve used Scart Switch many times before - not now though, `cos it really messes up quality.

The degree of degradation depends on the type of signal, e.g. Satellite, Cable, Gamecube, etc, but in every instance there is a marked difference.

There are about 10 stores in a 15 mile radius of me and on the last store there was only 1 copy left. I managed to reserve it - but had to convince the guy at the till that £9-98 was NOT a mistake.

Anyway managed to get it and am very lucky!

I used splashdvd.com before and no problems. However, I made an order some time back (Lawnmower Man). Unknown to me, splash had charged my credit card, renamed the product code and my order got lost.

It was only when I called them a couple of months later, did I hear the guilty person on the other end of the phone - who I must say apologised profusely.

Anyway - some good experience - some bad.

5 Speaker Set and Subwoofer at Aldi for £99

The speaker are only 10 Watts and the Subwoofer 50 Watts. But they look really stylish.

I reckon its okay for a 28 inch system considering the distance your soafer has to be from the TV and if you`re on a tight budget.

Most of you guys probably know this. However, since there is such a massive difference between the price of a Region1 and Region2 version its probably worth noting.

It`s priced at £142.99 which I think is a pretty good bargain considering it free delivery as well.

I`ve got the 210e and it is flawless - the 220e is basically the same, just thinner. Don`t worry about RCE `cos its multi-region it may play RCE automatically - and if not then you can put a Region1 in there, play it, take it out, put your RCE in there and it should play.
