Philips Dvd 612 Question

Just got back from Tescos where I found a Philips Dvd 612 for sale.Can anyone tell me if it vcdr compatable or not?It will play cdrs and I think cdrws.Also is it possible to make multiregion and disable macrovision?As they have only one left,a quick and helpful reply would be much appreciated.

What Player

Can anyone recommend a dvd player that supports vcdr.Nothing fancy ,just for the bedroom.I have a Samsung 709 already but that will not read the discs.

Does anyone know how to get vcds to play on dreamcast?I`ve got hold of a vcd player disc for it but can`t get it to work.

Playing vcd cdrs

Does anyone know if is possible to play vcd cdrs on a Samsung 709.It will play an original ok but when I play a backup disc, it shows up as NO DISC?

Samsung 709 macrovision problems

I have made my Samsung 709 region free setting it to no.9 in the hidden menu.This is also meant to disable masrovision.When I play a dvd through my video the picture is still distorted.Am I doing anything wrong?
