RE: Microsoft OEM Windows XP

Bought the OEM version for my PC, it was gonna be a cold day in hell before I paid the full £160 for the retail version. Only difference is that it just comes in a packet like you get when buying a PC.

Technically you may have to buy a piece of hardware/accessory at the same time... a mouse will suffice :) Got mine from overclockers.co.uk

RE: Free Pirates of the Caribbean Jack Sparrow Coin

Should calm my mate down. Somewhat horny for Jack Sparrow and I think she`s a little bitter at me for getting a last minute ticket for Chilli Peppers on Sunday :)

Which one?

The new 20Gb purple one. It converts the files to its own standard. Really liked the purple as well.

RE: Argos Sale - Creative Zen 20Gb MP3 Player £110

Would be handy to just leave in the glove compartment. And lets face it... no pikey git is gonna nick it. It`d take em a week to lift it! :)

Considered the Sony player... only thing that put me off was the fact that it doesnt actually play MP3s. I like the idea of my MP3 player also being a backup.

RE: Miss Leicestershire

Apparently that ones a lot better in real life and that photo doesnt do her justice. One of my other mates has fancied for years :D

Miss Leicestershire

Small request... got a mate thats in it and we`re trying to drum up as many text votes as possible. She`s asking me to post as many places as I can, especially since someone new just got added and is getting about 25 votes a day... even first thing in the morning!

Anyway... if anyone is feeling generous text miss0405 to 84205.

And she looks like this....

See... she`s cute and deserves lots of votes ;)

RE: Argos Sale - Creative Zen 20Gb MP3 Player £110/Venturer 40GB HDD MP3 Player £49.99

No idea whats up with that link. Should be a tinyurl but it puts a load of asterisks in its place.

Cheers Ivan :)

RE: What have you had stolen?

Few bits from my tent at last years Download festival... including my REALLY warm unofficial hoody! It was bloody cold that night as well!

RE: anyone going to download fest?

They`re meant to be putting up videos on the download website. http://www.downloadfestival.co.uk

There are plenty posted in the forums aswell.

RE: 6/6/06

RE: Half Life2 : Episode 1

RE: Half Life2 : Episode 1

Pre-loaded it a couple of days ago. Nearly forgot about that :)

RE: scheduling tasks

Will work if there`s a password for the admin account.

Major design flaw if you ask me though.

RE: What is the most refreshing summer drink?

Really cold beer.

Cant beat beer and a burger on a hot summers day

RE: Anyone had "Mobile Communications" phone you up offering to buy out your contract?

Had a few of them. Missed the first time they called but Google told me what to expect. Second time I wasnt on the phone so politely told em to go away. Think they may have phoned back once... but that could well have just been a random birmingham number.

RE: Trouble with new router

Try manually setting up your DNS settings on each PC. Can be done by going into network connections in control panel, viewing the properties for the LAN (or whatever network you have set up), then viewing the properties for TCP/IP.

Set it to Manually Obtain DNS. DNS addresses for blueyonder are (according to portforwarding.com):
193.38.113.3
194.177.157.4

RE: He has shuffled off this mortal coil and joined the choir invisible

Ooooooooh... WANT!!

It`s things like that box set that make me wish I had a decent paying job

RE: anyone going to download fest?

I`m going... sadly the best I`ll be able to do is a few photos.

Kerrang TV had a lot of footage over the following week last year, so hopefully they`ll do the same... but without repeatedly showing a really crap set by HIM!

RE: Creating Home Network problem

tried leaving the password blank?

RE: Eurovision Song Contest...

Cant believe Lordi won! Well impressed!!

Just a shame We Are The Winners didnt come in second :)

RE: Can`t get on via Firefox

AdBlock extension for FF. Then just click the adblock tab on a picture and replace most of the link with a *. Works a treat

RE: So... what are you playing just now?

Star Wars Rogue Leader on Gamecube. Finally got round to playing it again and found I was still only on the 3rd mission! Now on the last and getting my arse handed to me is multiple ways :D

RE: Trojan Trouble - Help Needed Please..........

I`ve stopped even clicking the close. Just kill them through Task Manager

RE: Nectar estores - get nectar points (effective discount) at online retailers

Didnt realise there were so many you could get nectar points from! I`ve been buying from several of them recently!

RE: Little Britain Live - brilliant! :-)

Saw it a few weeks ago at Nottingham Royal Academy. Brilliant! Best Dennis Waterman sketch so far. "Thats either a giant bee or someone hasnt thought this through!" :D

RE: how do you uninstall win fixer? and other jobbies

SpyDoctor it is. Only program I`ve known to get rid of Winfixer... which is why I`ve always been a bit suspicious of it.

I formatted the hard-disk and started from scratch. This thing was downloading viruses and trojans like there was no tomorrow

RE: how do you uninstall win fixer? and other jobbies

Think a mate got rid of this using Spy Doctor. Never used it personally so I cant vouch for how good it is.

Personally, the one PC I tried to fix that had it was summarily wiped

RE: Editing .PDF files

Only thing I can think of is Adobe Acrobat full version. Expensive though, assuming you want/need to go legit
