PS2 and GT4 - £114.98

Saw this in HMV. Also they give you a 10% discount card once you`ve bought it to spend on accessories and games. Lots of which are in a 2 for £30 deal = 2 for £27.

Smiths have a 2 for £28 where I picked up a Madcatz wireless 2.4Ghz PS2 controller and Crash Nitro Kart.

RE: Brake Dust on Alloys...help!!

I`m certainly aware of what I bought. Am under no illusions. Will not be trying to race *anyone* from the lights. Except maybe one of those Peroduas ;-)

RE: Brake Dust on Alloys...help!!

Mmmmnmmmm £24 :)

Thing is if I trade back to the dealer at book price in 3 years I`ll probably lose 3.5k If I bought a (say) Focus with equivalent kit on it I would lose say 5k over 3 years. Ergo...I rule :-p

RE: Brake Dust on Alloys...help!!

So I called the Kia helpdesk who were so far very...well, helpful...they said that if I have tried to clean it with an alloy cleaner which has failed then the local dealer will take photos of the alloys which can be submitted to head office who will then make a decision on replacement. Like you say if I`ve been washing them every 3/4 weeks then (like the body work) it will be covered. I`ll keep y`all posted.

Rio was a great buy for us. Size of it`s excellent. They compare it (price wise) to fiestas etc. But it has a boot bigger than a focus. Bigger than a Fabia estate. In the US they call it a mini wagon - not a hatchback at all. I`m 6`8" and I fit in the car (not the boot) easily. 1.3 litre engine doesn`t exactly fly (to say the least) but 3 year warranty - bargain price - vehicle size all weigh heavily in its favour.

RE: Brake Dust on Alloys...help!!

Thanks all. I`ll check it out. No - the wheels are not covered by that - being that I haven`t cleaned them - it#`s just wear and tear really.

Brake Dust on Alloys...help!!

Have a Kia Rio.
Forgot ;) to clean the car for a month or two and the front wheels were covered in brake dust. The surface stuff came off, but now they are ingrained and pitted with bits of it.
Anyone suggest anything to get that stuff off without damaging the wheels? I used some stuff from Halfords which was a complete waste of time - maybe I picked the wrong product.

RE: Digital SLR and lens kit for £528 ! (

I am very interested to. £599 from Amazon and the Canon cashback = £499 with Amazon`s usual great service. Only downside I see is that you can`t use the LCD as viewfinder. this seems a bit stupid as this is the great thing about digicams. But £500 for a camera is still a wedge. Really just thinking of it for pictures of our baby boy. Also you know damn well these are gonna be £250 by next christmas!

Light Sabre...

This is AWESOME. Someone in my office has one. It is so solid. The light beam appears to extend from the hilt as you turn it on. It has all the realistic humming noises and crashes as you move it. amazing.

RE: What was this advert for...

thanks all! Great stuff. My little boy likes the Hi Suuuueueueueeeee bit. Cheers :-)

What was this advert for...

...couple of young chaps go into a newsagent. Guy behind the counter is bonkers - wearing vest and sporting a moustache. He throws flour (or something) on his face. Runs out of the shop after them shouting `hiiii sooooooooo`...

Any ideas? I`d like to know so I can find it (hopefully) on the net.

RE: Best Rock band in the world ever......?

AC/DC...obviously. If anyone wants to ask me about when I was in a couple of their videos...go right ahead ;-)

RE: Outdoor tap kits

I need to check tonight - but I want to fit the tap on the wall which is exactly where my washing machine is. So I already have a copper pipe that finishes there with a little blue cut off tap on it. couldn`t I just T off that and do the same things and then thread copper pipe through the wall? I am not a plumber so no soldering - how would I fit copper pipe. Any idea what I`d need for this whole job - I`d be happier doing that than the self tapping kit - (looks like it might not even be necessary for me and also I`ve read some people getting low pressure of those kits and worse the self tapper makes a little copper disc inside the pipe which can cause blockages.)

Outdoor tap kits

Any advice. I think I`m gonna fit my own. I`ve seen the kits all in with a self tapping tap and all the necessary valves etc. I just need a drill bit big enough to drill through the house!

Ouch that hurts...

So I can`t get a decent temperature out of my shower mixer. Combi boiler (Response 120) and tank fed cold water. It either is too cold (boiler doesn`t fire) or scalding hot. There is no middle ground. I don`t want to install an electric or power shower. Would it help changing the shower head that may be my next step. Even though it would look crap on nice new Bristan mixer.

Help before I burn my foot again!

RE: help with first camcorder

I`ve plumped for the Sony DCR-HC18. Dixons have it for about £499...amazon £329! Only DV-OUT - but that`s fine if you are planning on making DVDs/VCDs. Lightweight, small. Looks good. Detailed review of HC20 here:
http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content/sony-dcr-hc20-camcorder-review.htm
That is the same camera except it has the DV IN enabled.

RE: DV camcorder Firewire Cable

eBay have loads for less than a tenner.

RE: Any recommends on a mini DV camcorder (that does digital stills also) for around £300?

I`m looking a the new Sony HC18 318 from prcdirect 329 from amazon. Stills to tape. But a good cam by look sof things.

RE: Samsung mini Camcorder

Hey,

Have you found an reviews on this? Detail on the net is hard to find. I see that it`s an SC-D230 in the US, but still can`t find any reviews.

I think I`m gonna go for the new Sony HC18 - £318 from PRCdirect.co.uk - but watch the prices - Amazon over the last week have come down from 399-->349-->329 so I think I`ll buy it from there. £499 in the high street. Nice review at camcorderinfo.com

RE: Hewlett Packard a409 ?270 - Anyone bought one yet?

The one from Comet doesn`t have a 6in1 card reader - although it`s pictured. If you lift up the front panel you will find USB ports and some audio connections. If you want a cheap 6in1 I bought mine - an external - from 7dayshop for about £7!!! hahahah that`s just stupid. It is small and silver - even looks cool.

But the PC is still rocking. A nice upgrade for me. ther eis even - get this - an instruction book telling you how to add RAM/drives etc. So I easily moved my old 8Gb drive and CDROm across to this new box.

Also comes with k/board and scroll mouse.

Be aware that XP CD is not included - instead they eat 5Gb of your hard drive with a `system recovery partition`.

You still can`t knock it.

I think now I`ll put it my old Sounblaster Live card (only selling for a couple of quid on eBay - that`s ridiculous). Just need somewhere to unload a socket 7 motherboard with 256Mb RAM and AMD K6 500 processor...and a tower...and a floppy drive...and a modem...bargain....anyone....anyone....Bueller?

RE: Hewlett Packard a409 ?270 - Anyone bought one yet?

Just called Comet on the central call center number. Ordered with card and they put stock aside for collection at my local store. I`ll be going in this afternoon to pick up!

woo hoo!

RE: Hewlett Packard a409 ?270 - Anyone bought one yet?

Yes I called HP to check and they confirmed it`s a DVD readed CD writer. Still a bargain. Perfect to replace my AMD K6 500!

Well in store there seemed to be a stack of them. 10 or so. So I`m assuming you can take away. I`ll give them a ring to check.

RE: Hewlett Packard a409 ?270 - Anyone bought one yet?

Hey people - anyone know if this is a DVDWriter and CD Rewriter. I think that`s what I remember seeing it in store. But on site it is ambiguous. DVD & CD rewriter.

RE: Azumi, Battle royale 1 & 2

Unless we`re talking American dollar. You pay Americna dollar!!!!!????? :o

RE: Azumi, Battle royale 1 & 2

No he`s not...25HK$ is only about £1.75! :)

RE: Canon digi cam

Only sent my voucher off on tuesday. If anything is heard. I doubt it will be for some weeks. this is a good A-series forum http://forums.powershot-a.com/

RE: cheapest place for battle royale (122 min version)?

eBay have a few Battle Royales. Coolashop used to do it for about £6 but they closed down :`(

RE: yamada 2500

Need to speak to my bro about this. Not sure whether he would put up with it or want a new one. Not sure what else comes close. But the pausing annoyed the hello out of me.

RE: Medion 8 in 1 remote £9.99

I couldn`t get this to work with my aiwa video (using codes). there were no codes for Dansai 852 DVD, so I tried to teach it but it seemed only to pick up play. So I returned it. Kept receipt and they were fine. Toys R Us.

Also Toys R Us said they had none in stock. Delivery maybe in 4 - 6 weeks. I thought the kid on the phone didn`t know what he was on about. Sure enough I went in and there were 20 on display. :p

RE: Canon digi cam

DON`t BE SHOWING ME THAT!!! Awwww I like that one now. How cool. I hate seeing other stuff after I have shelled out the wedge. :(

RE: Canon digi cam

Mine said it would take 2 - 3 weeks and actually took them about 10 days.
