Forgot to mention that this has started, watched the 1st 2 episodes of this series now and really enjoying it. It's interesting how it's genuine laugh out loud funny, then other times it makes you think seriously about nursing homes, and how old ppl get treated, and visiting them becomes a chore for many :(

In any case, again WWAW incredibly well written, and I think even non Gervais fans should give this a go as it's miles apart from his other stuff.

I have watched "Derek" since the beginning of the first series and I rate it as Ricky Gervais` best work. Going from moments of outright buffoonery to tear jerking tragedy in almost the blinking of an eye. The one scene I particularly liked was when one of the residents was ill in the first series. Sadly she passed away and the reaction of the cast/staff was tear jerking . There was a brief moment in the second series when Derek spoke of her and again it almost brought a tear to my eyes, sadly we personally witnessed similar circumstances a few years ago with my "Guid mither" god bless her.
Anywhoo, incredible writing allied to wonderful acting makes this show a favourite of mine.
Well worth a watch

PS The scene in the first series when Derek was wrestling with Dougie and he had him in a neck hold was brilliant. The actual fart in the outtakes was a great laugh as well.

yeh, that was v funny, and there replacement Dougie int he wrestling scene in ep 2 was great :)

Not finding the 2nd series as good.

The blank expressions staring at the camera, was funny once, but is now too repetative.

Also the foul mouth drinking guy, is just getting too rough and sickening even for me who is used to brickie's language on a bulding site.

I am now muting every time he is in a scene. its offputting.

really good final episode of the series, not a dry eye in the house

At least it did have some funny moments as well :)

22:00 tonight Channel 4, "last ever" episode, 1hr special.

outstanding again, keept the tissues handy
