This is an interesting development. My take on it is that the board have seen this season`s results and aren`t confident that Pardew will be able improve performances in the New Year. Therefore, they`ve sacked him now, which will allow them to bring in a new man, who can make some signings in January.

That man has got to be Alan Curbishley.

I think its a shame, Pardew had done a good job and it was going well til he got lumbered with players he blatently hadnt been chasing

Bad news for the hammers fans though and it isnt the 2 words "Alan" and "Curbishley" but the 3 words that are "Sven" "Goran" and "Erikkson"

I hope my suggestion of bad news does not become a reality for the hammers fans

One season in the Premiership and they are already thinking that they should be bigger and better. Blackburn and Middlesbrough are a lot more established teams in the Premiership and there hasn`t been talk of either of their managers getting sacked this early?

Looking at the upcoming fixtures they are:

H) Man Utd
A) Fulham
H) Portsmouth
H) Man City
H) Fulham

They could definately pick up 9 or so points from those games which would push them back up the table. You know someone else will come in now though and be hailed "a miracle worker" if they pick up some results for those games.

Oh well, at least he can go for the Newcastle job hassle free once Roeder goes. :D

Edit- Just looking at the table then to put it in perspective, Portsmouth and Liverpool have won 4more and drawn 2 extra games each, and they are third and fourth respectively.

Sorry mate, Pardew shat on Reading. Effectively walked out on Reading to move to West Ham so in all honesty phuq him. What goes around comes around. How nice to see the tables turned on an un-professional erse who reneged on a recently signed contract at Reading, even though they were sitting second in the Championship.

Sympathy, no phuqin chance :D

Choagy - IMO thats a bit harsh and this is why I say that

1) Clubs are less loyal than the managers and the players these days in that they will sack you no matter what the contract situation and hence why should the managers/players remain loyal

2) Be honest now, you offered West Ham job compared to staying in the Reading job which one is the "bigger" job? which one is the "bigger" challenge because they were in the premiership at the time?? You cant blame a guy for trying to better himself surely

West Ham were still in the Championship at the time, you still count them as the bigger club though.

Harsh, possibly.

True - undoubtedly.

Alan Pardew walked out on Reading.
No negotiation.
No discussion.

He shat on them and whether or not West Ham are a bigger club is not the point. The point remains he shat on them.
I for one look forward to the day this ersehole bemoans players lack of loyalty in the future.

"Bettering " himself ??

I do not care whether he "Betters himself" or not. I repeat :) he shat on the players, club and board at Reading so yet again Phuq him.

As a hammers fan and bar this year a season ticket holder for the last 7, I hope the egg has made the right move.

I can see where the new chairman was coming from. Its close to the New Year, in bottom 3, team not firing at all, captain and other players simply not looking up for the fight, transfer wndow looming, a need to attract players like wright phillips, just spent millions buying the club, sky tv money worth 10mil more than winning the champions league next year and so on..........

So i can see whay he wanted to act, and act he did, sacking what i think is one of the best managers we have had and someone who really did a fantastic job of getting us up.

Dont listen to anyone who didn`t watch us first hand in the fizzy pop league and who just say cos we finisihed 6th we only just scrapped up. Anyone who watches the championship (and i mean live, not just on tv) will (or should) know what a hard hard leagues it is to get out of, and often, the more a footballing side you are, the tougher it can be (Sunderland and West Brom perfect examples, both smashed it in the championship and struggled badely in the prem)

Pardew took on a team desimated by top players leaving, and took us on half way through a season and nearly got us up first time. Good finish in the prem and a fantastic FA cup run of which i will never forget!

Maybe Pards will show less loyalty to players he signs when they stop performing next time, maybe he has learned not to play people until totaly fit (tevez), and maybe he will have the balls to drop his captain after such a poor start to the season.

So maybe the egg was right and Pardew could have made some better descions this season.

I think he would have turned it round, but if he had not, we would be in a whole lot of trouble, and if it was my money, i may have acted too, but probably by getting rid of reo cocker instead.

Clever appointment, fire a fans favourite and hire another. i dont see Curbishley as any better a manager than Pardew, but the kick up the arse may be what the players need, and im sure thats what they will get.

It`s going to be interesting to see what happens :)

Who ever gets Pards next should be very happy.

Come on you irons!!! :) :)
