A lot of battery and glue. :)
Not easily repairable. :( I know companies want to make nice neat, small, compact reliable products, but for the good of the planet I wish they'd make them repairable too.

It's made that way in the hope apple buyers don't realise the components cost less than a 1/3 of the retail price.
There's a club that meets up to help each other repair technology that's meant to be unrepairable, can't remember what it's called, saw it on the BBC news channel show "Click'
I'm not saying Apple isn't a premium product creator with a high margin, but there is a lot more to the cost of a product than the components. The design and development costs, and the software to name a few.
I don't think they glue them together this way to make them harder to repair, I think they do it to get a stylish neat finish with a thin footprint. They don't care too much about repairs, which is not the same thing as deliberately making that difficult.
But then on the flip side it has created a nice third party industry in fixing them for us. ;)
