photo software

cirdan (Elite) posted this on Saturday, 28th February 2009, 22:22

i am looking to do a bit of a photo montage, if thats the right word. i want to put several pictures onto an a4, have some in the background, with some text etc. not too sure on the exact layout. although i do a lot of printing, to be honest i use the same program all the time. i dont think i have any specific photo software unless its already on the computer, im on XP. is there anything i already have that i can use?

cheers

you could use word, or open office, set the page to landscape, add a text box, then fill it with a colour as a background, then use word-art to add text.
Insert photos, then rightclick the pics you added & change layout to "in front of text" you can then resize the pics & move them around the background text box ect....

Or, go the other way & use a pictue edit software package
Here`s one that`s free

good luck :)

Picasa is a free photo organising and editing program from Google, it`s quite good, and has a montage feature like you require. You can download it for free from here:

The Gimp mentioned above is a very in depth program with lots of features and can be a bit overwhelming at first if you`re not used to photo editing programs.

thanks for the replies. i checked office and noticed publisher. i have used that a few times to do leaflets/fliers etc. but not for a while. i have just tried it and it seems familiar, i think it will be ok.

thanks again.
