Virgin Media tactics

For those who have all three services with VM have you received your letter from them stating from 1 April your seperate BB bill will be amalgamated with your TV/Phone bill so there wil now be only one payment

Seems ok but if like me you have been getting special discount deals on your BB, I`m on 20Mb and pay £18.50 per month for 3 months, these will cease from the end of this month and the system won`t allow these discount deals and you will be paying full wack of £37 per month

You now have to ring CS up and try and negotiate a new deal on your monthly bill.

Are you ex-NTL? It`s been a single bill for us ex-Telewest way back since the days of Yorkshire Cable.

We got a leaflet through at the end of February announcing XL everything for £20 less than the RRP, but we were already paying £24.49 (was £27.99 for a year) less for XL TV, XL BB, and whatever evenings and weekends is, so I rang and checked my negotiated package (negotiated last March during the fall out with Sky) was going on indefinitely (if not I`d have gone to the XL package). The woman on the phone confirmed that it was. (This was Tuesday).

So if that changes I won`t be happy.

Mine changed without warning, so I`d keep an eye on it.

We`re ex-NTL too, but our bills were merged well over a year ago now. I think they`ve been working their way round the country merging them as this Harmony systems come online in each area. Maybe they`re now having one last push to get eveyone onto it.

We haven`t had a letter, and don`t expect to as we`re already on one bill for everything, so hopefully our retention deal won`t be affected.

Mark.

I think the loyalty discount will remain but it`s a bummer for me as I enjoyed 20meg BB at half price for sometime :(

i`m ex ntl and had been on 3 for £30 when virgin took over

Despite a few mishaps with billing just after the takeover which led to me making various phone calls to correct it on a monthly basis this sorted itself out a while back and i;ve been paying only £27.95 per month for all 3 under 1 emalgamated bill for quite some time now

I`ve not had any letter saying to expect anything different

We`ve always had one lump sum to pay. I have just negotiated a new deal with them so will be okay for at least another twelve months.

Got V+ and am Paying £32.95 for: XL TV, M BB, Eve/Wkd Calls, it comes as £18 on the BB bill and £14.95 on the Tel/TV Bill which also shows the discounts totalling £20. No Letter yet but i only took this retention deal in Jan for 12 months so if they cancel my discount i`ll re-negotiate a better deal... :D

We`ve gotta cancel our Virgin account tonight... we`re paying £40 a month to virgin, but could have our broadband (allegedly) 8 times faster with sky for the same price. And we`re getting free Sky+ too... woohoo.
