Transfering to a CD ?

richardbradley66 (Competent) posted this on Tuesday, 22nd January 2008, 16:20

I have my cv in my documents and I also have a back up copy which i emailed to my own hotmail just in case my pc goes up the junction!

What i want to do is put a copy onto compact disc. My pc has a CD and DVD burner but i have no idea how to use this as i never have and dont really understand how to copy things, download things etc.

Can someone tell me how to do this, is it possible, and do i need blank CDR`s or blank DVD`s?

Thankyou

Richie.

If you`re running XP, just inset a blank disk, go to My Computer and right click the CD drive and choose format. Once done, you should then be able to just drag and drop files to the CD.

Beware that any MS OS pre-XP won`t automatically recognise the CD.

If you have burning software, just follow the tutorials..

I don`t think you need to do format do you?

drag and drop the file, then from the file menu something like "burn these files to cd" and it will actually burn them.

Now you`ve got the hang of that, back up *all* your important documents and files. :)
