Had enough of Orange?

The Jackal (Elite) posted this on Monday, 29th October 2007, 16:54

If you look at your latest Orange bill, they are going to be charging for numbers like 07978 that are used to call abroad from December 15th. However, there is a clause in the Orange contract which enables you to terminate the contract early.

http://www1.orange.co.uk/mobileterms/

it is clause 4.3 in that link, the clause is:

"4.3 terminating your Contract because Orange has changed its terms

You may also terminate your Contract if we vary its terms, resulting in an excessive increase in the Charges or changes that alter your rights under this Contract to your detriment. In such cases you would need to give us at least 14 days written notice prior to your Billing Date (and within one month of us telling you about the changes). "

So if you want to cancel your contract early because of these changes, do it quickly but avoid paying for the remainder of your contract when Orange no longer give you any benefit!

My son signed up to an 18 month contract at our local Orange shop 7 weeks ago. The Nokia N73 now refuses to receive texts (will send but not receive). Orange shop says as he declined to take out the Orange Insurance there is nothing they can do??. Surely as they sold him the contract/phone they are responsible for sorting the problem out??

Rant over - Orange C.S. is pants :(

Orange used to rock. Now they don`t. I had a phone just stop working so i called orange. They said there would be a £25 charge. I asked them why and they said it was my insurance excess. I then argued with them that I was not claiming on my insurance. I had not lost, had stolen, or damaged the phone. It was faulty. This went on for ages. In the end I got my £25 back. I had been with orange for about 10 years but loyalty counts for nothing now. So I am now with 02.
