Page 1 of Who will buy the iphone

I love the look of the i phone but we will not be able to buy it over here in the channel Islands as we do not have o2 over here. Do any of you think you will upgrade to it and have you heard any bad things about them.

I wouldn`t call a phone that can`t even send photos as picture messages an "upgrade". ;)

it`s been cracked like eggs so far as I know.
you should be able to stick any sorta sim in it.

i think i`ll give it a miss just for now, but i`ll be keeping my eye open for a revised version :)

xfg i did not know that. I have seen loads of chipped ones on ebay but would like a real one off the shelf. I did read that a upgrade for this phone may be 18 months away or so. I also like the nokia n95 and see that an upgrade for that model is due very soon.

well, i have the current N95 & an 8gig ipod touch, (hence no rush for the iphone) imo, the iphone is flawed, simply becuase as a phone it`s underfeatured & given the nature of the device thats just plain silly. i like my ipod touch, & am very glad i got it, but i love my N95 :) it`s just ace, tho the battery life is not good, (charge every day) but it`s an ace phone, & an amazing gadget with all the bells & whistles :) & it`s soon to be updated N95 i`d recomend. & although it`s got a smaller screen than the iphone, the N95 beats the s*** out of it for features, 3g, Wi Fi, bluetooth, high res screen, excellent mp3 player, excellent visual radio, excellent video capabilities (inc divx/xvid/mp4) & it`s really smegging LOUD :)

i have the standard "original" version of the N95, & currently run it with a 4gig card, but have an 8gig card on order :) & even then, i`ll probs get the new 8gig version as my next phone (i`m hoping the 8gig is built in, then i`ll add my 8gig card in to boost it to 16gig :) )

Chap at work got one over from the States - got it made sim free. Think he sent it off to a company with a website sort of like unlockiphone.com or something similar.

roflol :) it is kinda hard to argue, tbh, i was very interested i the iphone, untill they actually released it & the spec was released, i still think it`s a great "idea" but it feels like they added a phone to an ipod rather than an mp3 player to phone (that makes sense inside my head :) )

& tbh, although i never thought i`d use the tv out feature of the N95, i have to admit, i have used it a few times, mainly so my son could watch madagascar on his bedroom tv (his dvd player stopped working after a cola infusion)
