Page 1 of Ogster.. (or anyone on NTL etc...behind proxy servers..) help...

As I imagine you know, NTL use `transparent` proxy servers to `help` with browsing.. This means many sites don`t see your actual IP address because they all just see the proxy address. Sites such as rapidshare though often think you`ve already downloaded stuff and won`t allow you access. Or make you wait. Pain in the arse!! >:(
Have you found a free way around this. Tried changing my proxy server but it`s pure luck if it works and even then it`s only for one download.. >:(
Any suggestions???

in all honesty, i have no idea. sorry mate :( but tbh, i`ve never noticed any of the problems you mention, could there be another reason your having probs ?

No, it`s not anything else - I`m really surprised and can only assume you`ve not needed anything from here or similar sites. It`s a pain because a lot of places use it to upload files to but NTL customers can`t access it. >:(
Just googled it. So many p***ed of people. >:( Even a mention on wiki.. So does it not affect Telewest users?

I get the same problem as you SJ. I don`t know a way round it either, I just bookmark the page and try it again later.

So does it not affect Telewest users?

i`m ntl rather than telewest/blueyonder, but i would imagine it`s the same across the network irrelevent of "departments" as the same server/technology is used with all the different divisions (aparently)

i`ll have a look at the link you posted & try using it & returning to it etc, i`ll let you know how i go on..

Edit= this is how the link allways opens in firefox, (pls excuse the quarter of my desktop thats showing ;) )

now, what should i be looking for ? tbh, i`ve never used this before so i`m trying to emulate the problems your having, i don`t mind signing up for a month etc, but i`ll need some one to email some links to content etc

disne work for me.... the page just sits there pretending to load. tried in firefox & IE + removed the frame etc. same result each time :(

I was curous so I gave it a go, i have NTL, and I just eventually got a blank page, no attempt to download a file.

Sorry - may have picked duff links. Try this. (it`s a lix.in link. Similar to tinyurl - takes you to a different place..) If you`re very lucky and no-one has been there from your proxy you may get it. Otherwise.. :(
