Help with Graphics card upgrade

tutchy (Mostly Harmless) posted this on Sunday, 9th May 2004, 15:21

Hi
I currently have a Elonex MCX Webrider PC
566MHZ Celeron
192MB sdram

I currently have a Intel(r) 82810 4MB integrated graphics card
I would like to upgrade this to either 32mb or 64mb
Should any graphics card be compatable or do I need to get a specific one if so is their any program I can run on my computer that would give me the information to know which cards would be compatable.

I know my computer is not state of the Art but I am trying to upgrade it the best I can within a very limited budget. I am not into buying the latest games but I have purchased a couple of games lately that need at least a 32mb graphics card for me to be able to play them.

Thanks for your help
Tutchy

has your computer got an agp port? If so any cheap card on the market should suffice. Try this radeon 9200 if you have.

Any card more powerful than that would just be wasted, due to lack of system resources, but that one should be fine.

Aw, people can come up with statistics to prove anything, Kent.
Forty percent of all people know that.
