I just saw Gwar, I just had a shower, I think I'll need another in the morning to wash the "bodily fluids" from Gwar off me! We thought we were at a safe distance, we were for most of the show, but they shot a bit furth in encore and I received a direct hit :( you should have seen the state  of the people who were down the front!

music wise it was ok, but the show with aliens battling, king, zombie queen, putin, biden and more was worth it

That must have really freaked out the first aid tent. 😂

Isle of Wight festival starts tomorrow, but for once nothing appeals on the Thursday night (it's just a DJ set really) so not going till Friday.

Friend messages me this morning, to say she couldn't go to a gig at a local venue tonight, did I want the ticket. Had never heard of the band The Bronx, but listened to some stuff on youtube, and spotify, and am now a fan.

US hardcore punk band, usually play bigger venues than the Joiners, but doing some intimate gigs while supporting Rancid.

entire front area was a pit, with stage diving, crowd surfing throughout, encouraged by the singer who joined in a few times!

Saw Billy Joel at Hyde Park BST last night... was scorchio there all day, Natasha Bedingfield was first act on, and was quite good, the Daryll Hall came on a great back catalogue, sadly the voice isn't what it was!

This was third time I have seen Billy Joel, mid 90's Earls Court, River of Dreams Tour, than 2017 at Old Trafford, the best venue, and then last night, possibly the best I have seen him play...

Two solid hours, played a lot of his early 70's stuff... he clearly still loves entertaining the crowd, his voice never faltered, absolutely awesome... just need to win the lottery so I can go see him play Maddison Square Gardens.

Well last night went to The Watering Hole at Perranporth, and saw Wheatus...

Sadly left their best to last with Dirtbag, which made it quite a long night, was the first proper night time concert the youngest has been to and have to admit she struggled a bit!

The second best song they did was a cover of Erasure's 'A little respect'...

Support act was some American rapper called MC Frontalot, who was no Darryl MC, Jam-Master Jay, or Eminem... I am sure that someone there must have enjoyed his performance, but in all honesty if it hadn't been for the subtitles on his video screen, other than F Words, I wouldn't have understood a thing!

Well got to the Natalie Merchant concert at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall and just WOW!!! 1st time iv been to this amazing location that has the most amazing acoustics which certainly helped the Insane vocals on show over 3 hours with no support act but truly wonderful musicians and a (I assume) session singer brought in for the tour who did an amazing job trying to keep up with Natalie.

Now I have been lucky to see her twice, once at Hammersmith Odeon and once in New York but she was even more energetic here than I remember her, I have a couple of videos (were signs up saying no recording then Natalie encouraged the audience to video in her own fun and wicked way) when I put them up ill link here but she was even better than I remember :)

just got back from Engine Rooms - next step up size wise on gig circuit after Joiners for Bob Vylan, who I saw at Joiners last year.

sold out crowd loved it, just the 2 of them on stage still, but still put on a great show.

Support was Kid Bookie, who I had heard a bit on spotify, and seemed quite a good rapper, but now seemed to have a metal band, and it was a bit of a dirge :(

first on were Panic Shack, who were pretty good live, I had heard a few songs, kind of tongue in cheek, not too serious punk, but without being a joke punk band.

Greta Van Fleet last week in Dublin.
Overall a great gig - but those guitar solos want on a little bit too much.

something a bit different tonight for me, some "folk punk" courtesy of Sam Russo and Vinnie Caruana (The MovieLife, I Am the Avalanche) doing an acoustic set in a small room part of the old city walls, was a nice intimate venue, 60 tickets, all sold out, worked really well.

I saw Sam Russo a few years ago supporting Tim Barry (ex Avail singer), so bought tickets to see him, even though he was the support for Vinnie Carauna who I had never heard of. listened to some Movielife, and I am Avalanche stuff, but a bit too pop punky for my liking, but his solo acoustic guitar stuff is good, including versions of his old songs with those bands. you could tell there were some real fans of his older stuff singing along.

Well just secured tickets for August 2024 to Billy Joel in Cardiff
