Samsung ML1510 printer and PB 1200 scanner

Printer is faulty, makles a helluva noise when loading paper or running and errors unless you put some pressure on the left side of the cartridge.
The cartridge is refillable and it's a B+W Laser, I have found two small plastic lugs and a spring from it's internals but can't see where they've come from but it's obviously related, up until this error occurred it's been working brilliantly.

The scanner is ok bar a small blue line in the scanner table (think it's a little spilled ink from ages ago, easily cleanable or clonaeable to take out errors in PS etc)  I just can't seem to get it going on XP forwards, I did once using PS's twain driver but no idea how I did it and once I reformatted the machine (remember my huge HDD crash) I've never managed again.

So anyway, anyone make any use of them? The printer is obviously a spares/repair jobby, the scanner is a whatever-you-wanna-do-with-it jobby.

Don't want anything for them, just postage, and about to get rid but thought some of you might want to use them for something before they go (looks right at Mr S who tinkers with more electronics than I do ;) )

Obviously if you're not a regular and thinking you could make a quick fiver or so at Fleabay or the local car bootie then don't waste your time responding.
