Need a bit fo help with buying a 46 inch lcd tv.....

mate of mine is currently looking to upgrade his tv and is wondering what brand to go for is leaning towards a panasonic or a samsung.

which of the 2 above brands would most people recommend?

would you recommend any others?

At that kind of size wouldn`t a plasma be better? Panasonic maybe.

They got the model number as LE40A 616 / 656 ....?

Looks the same, says its the series 6 and 1080p. But the Play specs lists it as 3 x HDMI, and I think the 656 has got 4 HDMI if you count the side panel one. The 616 could be a European version, it appears on the German Samsung site, but not the UK one.
