Poundland URC22B universal remote control/Clarity freeview box question!

richardbradley66 (Competent) posted this on Friday, 23rd November 2007, 12:25

Hi, i have one of the Poundland universal remote controls, now i know im the last of the big spenders but i have always found these to work perfectly well with everything, even my hifi.
Thing is, i have just added another freeview box (Clarity from argos at £14.99, once again, last of the big spenders!!) for the back room and after a few teething problems, all is well.

I want to be able to use the universal remote so i can remotely view in another room (adding a tv via a video sender which i have done many times before) but whatever i do, quick search etc, i cant find a code, it searches but will not "power off". Seems like this might be the first piece of hardware that i cant use with it.

Also i cant seem to be able to buy one of these `clarity` remotes anywhere either (yes, even ebay) so im stuck !

Can anyone help?

Have you tried good batteries; IR remotes can go haywire when low on power?

Thanks Mike, yes i did. I then tried the remote on another freeview box and it didnt work on there either, yet i managed to get a tv and dvd player i bought at the weekend working fine.

In the end i just fitted a new coax cable in the other room (with a booster amp in the loft) and bought another freeview box and did it that way. There may be cheap remotes out there but at £15 i thought may as well just buy another, so i did and all is fine now.

Id still be interested to know tho if anyone can get any freeview box working via a URC 22B or any other multi remote.

cheap remotes are a waste of time iv never found one to work my hyundai or my amstrad till i got this one as it doesn`t rely on codes and copys your original remotes using its learning eye it can contol up to eight or nine appliances at once
its one of the best universal remotes out there

as its a touch screen its fully customable and you can pick where you want the buttons for different things very easy to set up goes on 4 aaa batteries and is backlit so great wen watching in the dark

mine controls my bedroom tv, sky+, dvdr , souround sound, main room tv, easycom, and alarm, hifi and vcr

the memory of you will bloom like the flower in the garden of my heart
