DR.DOOM (Harmless) posted this on Wednesday, 25th July 2001, 19:32

I just been ASDA today (how nice) and got my self a Logix 3000 DVD player, (don`t laugh) for £128

i already have a Bush dvd 2009, which i was hopeing would play my vcd`s from CD-R disks, but it dont. and that cost 120 squid.

however the logex 3000 taes DVD/SVCD/VCD/MP3/CD AUDIO and will take CD-R AND RW disks! also comes with s-video lead thing-me-do

the player it self dosnt play too bad, but not the best, but the repeat featur is fast and has up to 8x zoom.

as for multi-regon there are hacks out there i see, so thats ok for US didks i asume

wel anyawy its good enough for me, and if ur like me wanting a player to play vcd`s and cd-w/rw-disks, for a low price then this is the one for you

flam! have to flog me other player now, s***

Yes it does.

If you got this player I would go to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Scan2000 for lots of information on this player.

I`d recommend the Cyber Home ADM 512, it`s available from Richer Sounds for around £120. It`s multi region, plays CDR/RW and mp3s. Much more versatile than the more expensive Samsung 511 I used to have and little difference in quality.
It`s also possible to disable Macrovision with a firmware update.

There`s certainly nowt wrong with the Logix - a good steady player by all accounts.

Hey Nilesh - the Scan got a bit of a roasting in What HiFi Sound and Vision - 3 stars (subscribers will have got their issue today).

Would you like me e-mail the review over to you, mate ?

...plus £11.75 P&P. You seem to have forgotten to state that. Surprise, surprise. A bit like you having completely forgotten to send me a refund of half of my postage charges AND the power DVD software promised by way of recompense for the appalling service I received when ordering my Samsung DVD drive. I, for one, wouldn`t order from this outfit again if they sold the Scan player for £50! So there.
