RE: cartoons from late 80`s early 90`s

Not a cartoon but remember Trap Door, I loved that program, bring back BERK!!

RE: Which digital camera?

I`m very happy with my fuji 2800 which was £300, I think Amazon have got some left!

RE: Scary Movie 2

I like the tattoo bit but the rest wasn`t worth watching.

RE: someone recommend me a new DVD player!

It`s the 980, had it for more than a year so no warranty. I did take it to a repair shop who said it was "a very complicated electrical fault", in other words, they don`t know what is wrong with it.

I have a white dashed line about a third of the way down the screen - like a tear here line! It`s not the discs because the line is there before we put the disc in.

If we can get this repaired great but still going to buy another one as well so we can have one in the bedroom too! Have decided on a Panasonic RV71. Is that good?

RE: a good cheap! dvd player, for me anyway

has it got a digital coaxial out?

Panasonic RV31

Has anyone got one of these, is it worth buying or not? Does it play VCD`s?

someone recommend me a new DVD player!

My Mico DVD player just broke and I can’t get it repaired! Someone recommend another player to me. Needs to play VCD/CDR/CDRW, multiregion, play RCE discs and preferably have macrovision disabled. Ta!

RE: WERE IS THE CHEAPEST SITE TO BUY ROAD TRIP?

£14.66 on www.dvdboxoffice.com and as it`s American nothing will be cut out

RE: micoa980 problem

I had a friend who bought a Mico that did this, it`s not the person who sold it to you thought because he sent his back and got a new one. Did you buy it second hand or was it new? It sounds like he knew it was faulty when he sold it to you - then again, he could just be away for a while. I would keep trying to get hold of him. If he said it was it working order before you bought it you can demand a refund under Trade Descriptions, "Goods Not as Described", I think????

RE: People Looking For a Macrovision Remover

try www.lekropacks.co.uk
I got mine here but they don`t actually call it a macrovision remover. It`s called a video copy enhancer and is £60.

help!!! Yamaha amp & DVD player

I am thinking of buying a Yamaha DSPA5 amp, was going to buy the A2 but the discontinued it (I am not impressed).

Want to know what it was like really if anyone has one.

Also need multiregion DVD player (Yamaha) to go with it. Do Yamaha do a DVD player that plays VCD, CDR etc.?

If anyone knows where I can still get an A2???.......

Ta!

Mustek DVD300

Has anyone got one of these players?? Thinking of buying one and can`t find a review on it anywhere. Because it`s Region free I`m assuming it doesn`t play RCE discs??

RE: Rental dvd.

Has anyone tried this website? What is it like, any good? Are the films available that you want?

RE: MEET THE PARTENTS R1

I have had no problems with any of my R1 discs, perhaps I have a better quality DVD player??? (only joking!) I have just ordered Meet The Parents so I will let you know what that is like.

RE: What SCART leads do you use?

DON`T buy gold plated scart leads, for the money you will pay extra they are not worth it. I have a friend who is a professional sound system fitter and he says they are not worth it. Don`t buy really cheap ones either or end bits come away from the cable!!!

RE: Pionner DVD

I have seen adverts in DVD Review magazine for companies that will modify the player for you or you can buy a chip and do it yourself.

RE: PAL vs NTSC

NTSC DVD`s often have different extras on them. There is a website that compares NTSC and PAL discs and tells you which one is the best value for money:

http://www.dvdrumble.co.uk/

RE: VCD`s anyone?

I have some VCD`s for exchange if anyone has any recent ones???

RE: VCD`s anyone?

yes the PS2 does need a chip. You can get them from http://www.consolechips.com/ps2-newmod.html for £19, don`t know if this is good?

Or do a search on yahoo for "PS2 chips", it comes up with lots of different websites and some of them have diagrams on how to fit them. I don`t know how easy this is because I haven`t got a PS2, waiting for the Microsoft X Box!!

macrovision

Does anyone know where I can get a decent unit to disable macrovision? I have one but it`s not so good. I want to use it for both DVD to VCT and VCR to VCR.

Thanks!!

RE: A couple of questions from a beginner!

I have always found www.dvdboxoffice.com to be the cheapest place to buy region 1 DVD`s from, they don`t charge for shipping anywhere in the world.

If you want to search for cheap DVD`s try www.dvdupdate.com they will search for you and find the cheapest place to get the DVD you want from.

RCE stands for Region Coding Enhancement. This is a program put onto a DVD to try and stop upgraded DVD players from playing DVD`s from other regions. If you have a DVD player which selects the specific region when a disc is put in it will still play these RCE discs. If your DVD player is code free (region 0) then you may not be able to play these discs. One disc I know that has RCE is The Patriot (region 1).

There is a bit about RCE in Total DVD magazine this month if you want to read more!

Hope this helps!

RE: Woolworths accepting all unwanted DVD`s

Hi Neil

I read your message with interest and have some comments.

After working in Woolworths for a considerable amount of time I can relate to your problem.

They do get a lot of people bringing back DVD`s for a refund and it does get annoying. I agree that people should only buy DVD`s if they want to keep them, if they only want to watch the film there are places to hire DVD`s!!!

As for the comment I read later by Shaun about the way staff treat the DVD`s it`s the public`s fault. If we could trust people to pay for things they wanted we would be able to put them on the shelves.
