Do I always have to turn the contrast down for R1 discs??

Hi - I recently bought an LG3200 and connected it to my 28" Sony tv (Pal/NTSC compatible). It plays everything fine, but when I watch R1 discs I have to turn the tv`s contrast down quite a bit (to make it "less white"!).

I also have to do this when playing NTSC videos though - so is it something to do with the tv??

Please advise!!

The reason for this is that NTSC/R1 videos and DVD`s have more lines than pal. Your DVD player should be capable of outputting R1 in PAL format and this should reduce the brightness.
