Page 1 of Question reference DVD recorders

Hi
I am looking to purchase a DVD recorder however i have a question with reference to my portable panasonic LV-55 which is region 1 .

Are any of the DVD recorders on the market able to record discs that will play on a region 1 player as well as the normal region 2. I know they can play different regions and even region free but can they record !!!

DVDs recorded on a DVD recorder are region free, but that isn`t the real problem here -you have PAL/NTSC to worry about as well, and many American DVD players simply aren`t capable of playing PAL discs. I`m not sure if this is the case with the LV-55, but it`s something to bear in mind.

The Panasonic machines will record NTSC from a NTSC source ie. they won`t convert pal to ntsc.
