Sad to see Ian Lavender 'Pikey' go at 77
Especially as I didn't think he was older than me
Used to love Dads Army and repeated episodes will still raise a chuckle.
I'm sure someone at the mythical pearly gates will holler 'Don't tell them Pike'
when Pete's checking names.
Didn't know about this clip

That's a nice clip, not seen it either :)
I never liked the TV series at all, just felt like old fuddy duddy humour to me. But later on I was exposed to the radio series and I've grown a strong fondness for it in that format. I guess it's the same scripts but without the slapstick and that really appeals to me.
RIP Pike

I guess my Fudd has always been Duddy.
Just remember even the oldest joke is heard as new every generation.

RIP.....Ah, the old TV shows are the best and Dad's Army was really up there with such brilliant actors. Always remember the phrase "Don't tell him your name Pike" LOL
PS...Just saw a TV show last night being bored and switching channels randomly that I had never seen before and knew nothing about, it was a sequel to Are you being served, called Grace and favour. Many years on and the remaining living cast looking a lot older in the grace brothers staff inheritance of a rural hotel. Strange I did not know about it. Was a shadow of its former self.
