container ship got in trouble our neck of the woods recently didn't it, carrying cars, until I was reading about that, despite living near docks most of my life it had never occured to me how much ship there is under water!

If I'd have got one ferry later from the mainland, I'd have witnessed it (if I'd looked out the window anyway, so really probably still would have missed it).

Kept meaning to travel to the other side of the island to take a look, but figured it would be too far away to really be an amazing sight.

Apparently near Gosport atm there is a huge American aircraft carrier that is too big to dock in Portsmouth?
