was great came in 17th on the day 1 hour 27 minutes, more importantly raised just over £400 for Cancer Research UK... cant get the day off for next years (March 16), however may enter Midlands Tough Mudder which is May 21/22 16 at Belvoir Castle...
That was the making of a heart attack😮🔫 Now I may sound like a worry olde fart before engaging in that go for a physical and start in a smaller scale😃
FFS sparky, I can only assume you are running and swimming due to all the squad cars being used by council officials
Choagy FFCUK The SPL 45%
All done, no injuries :) Really enjoyed it actually, the camaraderie is amazing, "you can always rely on the kindness of strangers" :)
well done...
I enjoyed it so much am planning on Rock Solid again March 16 (booking annual leave for it), Midlands Tough Mudder at Belvoir in May 16, and hoping to be in a team for the Nijmegen Marches next July 16

some work mates did Trailwalker a couple of years ago, I didn't do the walk, but was part of the support team with that, good luck with doing those events.
I was chatting to a couple of TM "legionairs", one of them was on his 2nd lap of the day, said he'd done all the UK ones this years, and various in Europe, with his girlfriend, who was next to us in queue for one of the obstacles! Said in all they'd done 55 TM laps!
another legionair I was chatting to said he had been doing it since it started, was on 40 or so laps!
Cost is the main thing putting me off doing it again :( my ticket was £85, if I sign up within next couple fo weeks for next year can get it for £60.
I did enjoy it, I'm quite tempted, but one of my main reasons for doing it, was that I turn 40 very soon, so it seemed quite fitting :)
I take my hat off to all you guys doing this sort of thing.
I can't run round my local park without injury or fatigue!
I find it kind of funny, I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which i`m dying are the best i`ve ever had.

I was the same a few months ago :)
One of the reasons these things are so popular is that a lot of us sit on our arses all day. A friend of mine started triathlons a few years ago, as he needed a goal, rather than just a reason to do excercise, now he's getting quite high in the ranks in his age band. I think there's a lot of middle aged people who do them for a similar reason, my next door but 1 neighbour has just gone to Majorca to do an Iron Man thriathlon! I told her she was insane, she said I must be as I was going to get electrocuted and go through tear gas ;)
On the course, 1 of my team mates said, it's wierd to think army guys do a lot of this stuff every day, in their training. When I got back home, I phoned my parents, told them how it went, and my dad, who joined the army when he left school, said he was impressed (and surprised) that I did all the obstacles.
My neighbour as well, he's retired, but joined the army when he left school, was saying, "now you have an idea what we went through, every day, with a heavy pack" !
I still feel sore.
Good job I didn't watch Full Metal Jacket before hand, probably wouldn't have done it ;)
