Why it pays to make geeky videos on YouTube
Some of you may remember I overgeeked a few years ago and posted a video about making fudge on yt. After a while I got a message from Google telling me it was getting more than the average amount of clicks, and would I like to sign up for AdSense? Didn't cost anything, so thought why not. Then completely forgot about it.
My semi-long-term memory being what it is, suddenly remembered about it the other day so decided to have a deeper look into it, and was pleasantly surprised to discover my humble fudge video has eartned me some cash.
£30.65. Its like a modest lottery win, but with no initial outlay. Now if only I could get paid off that cloverfield video I threw together. Damn copyright.

RE: Why it pays to make geeky videos on YouTube
In a similar story, I had a few photos on Flickr of old retro computer kit, and they had a deal with Gettys at the time, their curators invited some of my retro photos to appear on Gettys Images where I'd get money if they were used anywhere.
Forgot about it after that, last month I got an email saying I was due £37.66 for people who had used them!
