To be fair, they do that sort of profiling for fraud reasons, as if someone steals your card or details they are more likely to present a different pattern of behaviour. I would say this use benefits the bank and you, since it does help prevent people stealing your money.
Well I was working in Bath at the time and needed money to get home. Luckly one of my workmates gave me some money for petrol, as he was getting a lift from me back to London anyway.
I now carry two cash cards when away from home, being caught out like that.

Britain is treating journalists as terrorists:

Aka, what happens when you can't tell the difference between a Labour, Tory and Con/Lib coalition government.

Rob, are you sure you're reading that correctly? It seems to be saying that her lawyers are advising not to return to the UK and she mentions a number of scenarios that 'might' happen, not that definitely would.
Reads to me like her exile is self-imposed.

If you are asking me if I think she'd be arrested? Probably not.
But on the basis the boyfriend of another Guardian journalist was detained for 9 hours under terrorism laws without legal recourse, do you think she wouldn't be? I very much suspect she would, and I think that shouldn't be something our government should be allowed to do.
Whilst I'm not on the side of people who think the government are mind controlling its citizens whilst talking to aliens, I'm definitely of the opinion it does an awful lot of shady (and downright illegal) things which it claims to be on behalf of its citizens, that it has no right to be doing, and that journalists should be free to expose it without these anti-terrorism threats.

Basically, whilst the NSA claim they target just specific sections of the internet, it turns out they target anyone who is just googling privacy tools like Tor and Tails. The moment you do that they start taking a closer look at everything you do.
Quote:
One expert suggested that the NSA's intention here was to separate the sheep from the goats -- to split the entire population of the Internet into "people who have the technical know-how to be private" and "people who don't" and then capture all the communications from the first group.
Interestingly, it seems this leaked information comes from a second source, so someone other than Snowden may now be leaking info.

Sounds reasonable to me as a starting point...
