Page 4 of Oscar Pistorius is thought to have shot his girlfriend dead.

Three days now of Pistorious acting like a 'whinging pom' (sorry guys, slip of the old aussie slang). His voice is rather grating and full of emotion.

Is he acting?
Is he telling the truth?
Does he need another bucket to wretch in?

With all the cross examination, there was only one thing that mattered and that was, Pistorious stating that he fired the gun four times in quick succession, which according to the police evidence is not correct, as they say it was one bullet (then the girlfriend then takes a certain time to get into defensive position), then followed by the other three bullets. 

This is crucial evidence, as if there was a delay between bullets there was the possiblity of a scream from the girlfriend, as she did not die, till after the defensive position was made, and hence if Pistorious heard a womans scream, should have recognised that she was in the toilet.

The other possiblilty is that he knew she was in there, and was so angry due to an argument, just shot her.

I wonder how the judge is getting on deciding the above. We wait and see.

Some of the best work from the Prosecution today, as they made Pistorius go though a step by step analysis of his movements from bedroom through corridor to bathroom, and then to facing the toilet door.

Pistorius was having some real pregnant pauses before answering some of the questions put forward. The Prosecution was trying to prove that his story of there being an intruder was just a cover.

One of the most interesting facts is that Prosecution stated that the girfriend was standing facing the inside of the door, as she was talking to Pistorius (an argument?) through the door before bullets were fired. He denied talking to her. He also denied hearing her screams (if any) during shooting.

Prosecution stated that if there had been an intruder, his girlfriend would have been cowering against the small bit of wall alongside the door, next to the toilet, rather then stand in front of the door. An interesting assumption.
 
The evidence today, really made people think about whether Pistorius was lying his head off about there being an intruder.

One of the major factors being, that he did not check physically where his girlfriend was in the house, (he said he was shouting for her) before proceeding down that corridor with a gun. 

At the end of the day, its the judge that will make the final decision. But most of us have already decided with the evidence given so far, if he is guilty or not.

well I saw it this morning I mean the trial , he sounds so helpless and sad, hope  the judge  see for what it is,  now they going to bring more  witnesses  and   and  who knows whats next? So  hard to figure this one so far.

One thing that will probably be the deciding factor in this, is the country these events played themselves out in. South Africa is hell on toast once the sun goes down. Jo'berg is a no-go area after 9pm. Wander the streets after that time and you literally take your life into your own hands

My niece spent a month in SA over Christmas with hr boyfriend (who magically transformed into her Fiancee on new years eve). They rented an apartment, which they shared with other family members, including two little girls.

On the second night, someone broke into the apartment and stole everything of value, while everyone was asleep in their beds, including an iPad that was on my niece's bedside cabinet right next to them.

Reporting the incident to the police, the iPad had a Trace my phone app installed. Once activated, the police took one look at the pad's location and the following conversation ensued;

"Is the ipad insured sir?"
"Yes"
"Get another one"
"But I want MY iPad back."
"It's gone mate. We don't go there."

The sort of people that break into your apartment in SA also go armed with bricks and rocks in case you wake up while they're stealing your stuff. Knowing what I know, I can fully believe Oscar was fearing for his life. Perhaps he didn't think things through properly, perhaps he should have checked Reeva was still in bed, but perhaps his first instinct was to make sure she was 'safe'. But hindsight, always, is 20/20

This weekend the M20 was buggered near my home, due to a motorist getting out of his car on the hard shoulder, and stepping immediately into the path of an oncoming truck, killing him instantly. Maybe he should have glanced in his door mirror to check if there was any oncoming traffic.

I can't foresee any possibility where I'd ever get out of bed having heard a noise and not looked next to me.  Ever.  Never mind changing my mind about key things like whether I was or wasn't wearing my legs.  Erm, if I wore them.
