Any BMW windscreen wiper experts?

whoot (Elite) posted this on Monday, 31st March 2008, 14:29

The wipers on the car are fooked. They start fine, but then work intermittently - stopping halfwipe, for example

Am not very techie and no less about cars than stone age man. I do know that taking it to a bmw garage is likely to cost me two kidneys and an arm..

Is there anywhere I can poke around that wont f*** anything - me or the car- up?

I have trouble changing the wiper blades on cars. I get the new ones and then fiddle around for ten minutes trying to get the old ones off and then spend fifteen minutes waggling around to fit one and then it snaps into place and I have no idea how I did it and spend twice as long fitting the second one...

I`m also battery dyslexic. I`ll change the batteries in something and wonder why it still doesn`t work and then have a look inside and I always have at least one battery the wrong way round.

i`ve changed the blades before.. its just the motors and s***.
i`ll end up setting the thing on fire - which wouldnt be a bad thing, if it wasnt my fault.

do a searc for `independant bmw specialist [insert home town here]` and see what comes up.....i did the same and it turned out the ex master technician from our local (rip-off) bmw main dealer was about 2 minutes away from me and charged £30 p/h as opposed to BMWs £100+ per hour.
