What is you biggest impulse buy?

The original 42pcenter MD (Elite) posted this on Friday, 15th August 2003, 16:00

Yesterday I bought a one bedroom appartment at the new Freemans Meadow waterside develepmont in Leicester I saw the plans at 6PM on monday as the sales office was closing. They opened again on thursday and I got the one I wanted. It`s going to cost me £152,500.00 and won`t be ready untill december 04.

Sorry if it sounds like I am bragging but I can`t wait,

All the best,

The 42%er

Hope the market does not collapse between now & then or you may regret it. I believe it is likely to.

God, there`s always someone who says something like that when they hear someone has bought a property!

I have just bought a new house and most people are saying "well done", "looks nice" etc.

Then someone comes in with the "ooh, the market will probably crash in the next few months and you`ll lose a fortune" comment.

While it may or may not be true (I would like to see anyone`s evidence to confirm either way as I`m sure there are many financial analysts who would pay a fortune for it), it`s not a particularly nice thing to say to someone.

Sorry if I sound like I`m flaming, but I feel there is just no need to be so pessimistic without any facts and I`ve had a bad day at work. >:(

Contrary to popular belief, I do not work for Panasonic but I am into property
improvement. I have had my fingers burnt once & it won`t happen again. I just keep my ear`s to the ground. I don`t want to dampen anybody`s joy but I hope it works out. This is the top or very near top of the market.

Just bought me house 44k (much cheapness) a jag for my old man, beemer for mother dear and a golf tdi for sister, all in the last few days :D

BTW, I heard a whisper that good old GB was planning on upping stamp duty and or lower the threshold to slow the market down, which I think is total and utter bollocks, what they really mean is the market is looking good so lets screw alittle more out joe public!
