Page 1 of Which digital camera?

I debated putting this in the hardware section, but it`s not hardware of the sort usually associated with this site so I eventually decided that the general forum would be best. Mods: if you disagree, I apologise, and please feel free to move it! :)

I`ve been toying with the idea of buying a digital camera for some time now and have finally decided the time is right to splash some case. I`m looking to spend around £300.

Can anyone recommend a particular model? It will be for general purposes stuff - holiday snaps etc etc so no particular needs to bear in mind. I`ve had Canon (non-digital) cameras in the past and been happy with them - I quite like the digital version of the Ixus, to replace my existing Ixus APS camera. Thoughts......?

A work colleague here has a Kodak, yes don`t all laugh at me I did say Kodak 4900 and the pics that I`ve seen from it both indoor and outdoor are very very good. Another friend of mine has the Minolta F100 which produces stunning pictures. I think both the cameras I`ve quoted maybe slighty over you budget but IMHO well worth the extra dosh.

I`m very happy with my fuji 2800 which was £300, I think Amazon have got some left!
