Bloody hell, can`t believe they made this, where have I been??? Like most i adored the spoof trailer they made and again probably like most wanted to see it for real, well the brothers have done it. What a great cast, I mean Trejo is his usual self, outrageously glorifying all things violent. The movie introduces someone called Don Johnson who is excellent ;), some guy called De Niro aint bad either, add to the cast Jessica Alba, Lindsy Lohan and i assume some relative of the directors and a very podgy Steven Seagal and the Jeff Fahey the pilot from lost really is a very strong cast.

The movie itself i think is full of surprises, full on outrageous blood and guts, very dark comedy/satire commenting on the usa`s immigration problems and how the right wing im sure would love to deal with it particularly De Niro`s portrayal of the senator but also the very subtle interplay between Alba and Michele Rodriguez playing cat and mouse between themselves and add Cheech Marin and the cast works perfectly.

They have made it true to the trailer, very retro in places but very well made and great great fun

I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. Plenty of laughs, gore and boobs. As you said it loses its way a little towards the end and takes itself slightly more seriously than it should, but still I`m looking forward to Machete Kills and Machete Kill Again :D

See this is the kind of thing that encourages piracy.

I had to download Grindhouse as it didn`t get a release here (was even big delay in the "seperate" films coming out).

Didn`t know Machete, was available :D

Watched the R5 earlier (fed of of waiting for a theatrical release), and it was about what I was expecting. Very silly, but I quite enjoyed it. Alba really is a crap actress though. His nieces are quite tidy in nurse`s uniforms.
