Yes. They cocked up with the two disc though. There are no subtitles for the French dialogue. Mongs.

Fox are twats. I bought the 2 discer as I quite liked the film and it was only a tenner so what the hey...

I flicked through it last night and nice to hear some f-bombs, but some of the lip sync is still clearly had poor dubbing, perhaps alterations to the script post shooting?

And the extra violence is mostly CGI blood splatter from what I can see, however I will watch tonight and see if I can spot any additions?

There`s at least one alternate line/take, after Willis takes down the chopper. In the theatrical cut he says something about being out of bullets, but the `unrated` cut is different (and the ADR sounds completely different as well). Real hash of a release this one.

Neithe rof them are cut. The single disc is the theatrical version the other one is just an extended version with more swearing an some alternate takes/dialogue.

Well i watched it and it`s shocking how poorly a couple of lines have been edited in, especially the "f*ck being the hero" line in the car as you can tell its been recorded in a sound booth and the rest of the dialogue is original.

Also sound drop out when Maggie Q arrives by helicopter at the power plant.

Still, enjoyable film and way better than it should have been.

So the `unrated` version has also had some ADR? Why not just go with the original audio (unless the sound was poor)? Was going to pick up the `unrated` version but I`m almost put off now.

Are any of the edits different in the film? I`d noticed that certain shots had been chosen to mask the re-dub on the dialogue.

Most films have loads of ADR, especially action films. The problem is that the ADR here doesn;t even sound like Willis on occasions, and as you pointed out the film has been edited to mask some of the dodgy lip-sync. As I`ve already said, there are alternate scenes.

Well I know some films have full ADR, with some directors choosing to not bother with live sound at all, but Die Hard 4.0 has some of the worst stuff I`ve ever seen. They should have re-recorded entire scenes rather than just sections of dialogue. I can`t believe a studio/director would allow this to pass - its just so amateurish.

It lets the film down in a big way for me, especially as I`m an editor myself. I`m always watching out for editing choices/styles and can easily spot mistakes. The only way I can excuse this film is by knowing that Wiseman set out to make an adult film, which was then bollocked up by the studio. Apparently the same editor from this film has been called in to work on Hitman, to reduce the certificate on that too.
