GPX Navigator (Speed Camera Detector) - Free at Staples !!

RichTea (Competent) posted this on Friday, 12th January 2007, 13:13

Been thinking about getting a Speed camera detector for a while and saw this one in Staples today at the bargain price of £19.91.

However when I took it to the till they currently have a promotion on whereby they give you a £20.00 voucher when you buy any Sat Nav system. Although this mainly relates to Tom Toms and the like, this GPX unit also does basic satellite navigation.

So I pay £19.91 and get the unit and a voucher for £20.00 to spent on anything in store between now and the end of February. So I`m actually £0.09 better off !

Havent rigged the unit up yet so cant comment on how good it is, but hopefully this post might be of use to someone.

Cheers,
Rich.

Thats as cheap as renewal for another 6 months.

BTW I bought one of these 4 months ago, very handy indeed. ;)

I consider myself an optimist, albeit an optimist with cynical tendencies and a dark side that Lucifer himself would find a little creepy. (Perhaps you've noticed.) You don't normally associate cynicism with an upbeat pov. But I have exactly that combination and will defend it.

Todays goal is to exceed yesterdays record level of totally unverifable productivity.

I don`t understand why people knock ASBO`s, they are good things as for most of the recipients, these are the only qualifications they will ever have.

I had a offer of cheaper insurance because of it.

I popped into our local Staples yesterday and could only see full Sat Nav`s for hundreds of £££`s. Not a single speed camera detector to be seen. Certainly nothing in the £20 range.

Maybe this £19.91 GPX Navigator was a local clearance item. :(

Critters.:D

I only saw it in store, however the displayed price was a proper price ticket, not a managers special type thing, so I am assuming that it is a national price.

However I would guess that they are being reduced to get rid of stock, hence why theres not many around. My local branch (Reading) had one more left.

have now set it up, definately worth £20.00 (or + £0.09p) !!
Cheers,
Rich

Mine was at a local clearance price & was used temporarily in place of my defective speedometer & as a calibration device when Serenity was fixed of that particular defect to compare how fast I was going against how fast the speedo says I am going.

Bloody handy as it happens with the average speed cameras around the Exeter stretch of the M5, aim for 50 on the speedo & I am doing 44Mph (& able to maintain that speed without taking eyes off the road to constantly check for speed creep).

I haven`t yet used it to compare the Cavaliers speed with actual.
